I live in Weardale ... about 40 minutes drive from Beamish. About 5 years ago I witnessed an old farmhouse that was only about one mile from my house, being dismantled. It was rebuilt in Beamish, it was put on a hilltop overlooking the Pit Village. it's called Spains Farm. I went to see it not long after it was opened.

The trolley is a Tram. Hope you enjoyed your day. Northeast is a great place. Fantastic beaches and Countryside. Oh and the people are not bad either. Lived in a house like them in Denton Burn, a once little village on the west of Newcastle.

What a cool adventure in Beamish! Love seeing more of the English countryside! And all the yummy food, too! PS: I have only recently gotten into espresso martinis, and I've not had the salted caramel variety yet, but I'm definitely craving one now! 🍸

Glad that you are enjoying yourself... Not sure that I'd choose a Toby for a Sunday Roast. You'd be better off in a popular independent pub in a village. Just look for a carpark full of posh cars. 🙂

Our local tour guides chose Toby for us just because it has everything you could possibly want for a Sunday Roast as a first impression. I loved it, so I'll definitely be looking for another Sunday Roast on the next visit :)

I'm glad more tourists are becoming aware of Beamish and what it represents. Toby is a bit hit and miss in my experience, it depends on the staff at the individual branch and how long the meat has been out.

All that existed at the Beamish museum site originally was a railway station and a colliery. Nearly all the buildings including the shops, churches and farmhouses were dismantled brick by brick at various locations in the north east and then taken to Beamish and rebuilt exactly as they were. It is a great place to visit. Hope you saw Durham Cathedral and Alnwick Castle if you like Harry Potter.

It’s amazing they have such a large piece of land to be able to keep adding to it as well. So amazing! We did in fact visit Durham Cathedral the day before this - that episode is up on my channel if you want to see! :)
