This is a very good video. I am looking to tutor esl someday and I think I could use this information. Elaine, can you provide descriptions of how your mouth forms each letter in case I need to use this information in my tutoring?
@DelcoLiteracy10 жыл бұрын
Dear Kelsey, Elaine is not available to provide the information you are seeking. I would do a search within KZbin or in the entire Internet. I am sure there are some on-line resources available. Sorry we couldn't be of more help. --Delaware County Literacy Council

Hi. Thanks for your comment. We work with adults, using Ventures from Cambridge U. Press: www.cambridge.org/us/cambridgeenglish/catalog/adult-courses/ventures-3rd-edition. Also, I see they have a resource page with free sample print and audio lessons, etc: www.cambridge.org/us/cambridgeenglish/resources. I hope this helps.

Hi Rashoma. Where do you live? You should be able to find a literacy center in your area. We are near Philadelphia PA.

The teacher talks too much, she knows English ,no need to talk so much.
@chellycat148 жыл бұрын
Why does the teacher talk to the student like she's a child?
@brianconnelly81075 жыл бұрын
It's called grading your language
@teacherfromthejungles66714 жыл бұрын
because that's how ESL teaching works
@JeriDro3 жыл бұрын
she's speaking slowly and clearly because she's teaching English.....do you have a brain?
@andresyan41633 жыл бұрын
Obviously you don't know anything about teaching and learning a second language.

Why asking a student if she knows alphabet if she already speaks quite well and understands all the questions the teacher asks)))
@svisvisvisvisvi3 жыл бұрын
As it's the first class, I'd say the teacher is checking her pronunciation, spelling and reading skills in that part. It's also a bit of a warm-up, to make the student more comfortable. If the teacher hasn't met the student before you prepare these sorts of generic activities to see how they do.

Why is the tutor speaking down to her student, a grown woman, as though her student is dumb or a child? The tutor comes across as very condescending.
@teacherfromthejungles66714 жыл бұрын
why do you come back again and again after three years to leave a salty comment? during this time you could get a TEFL certificate and make a teacher's career.
@JeriDro3 жыл бұрын
you're an idiot. she's teaching her a new language, duh
