The 2 saddest songs by him that 100% recommend are, The Last and So Far Away. there are no music videos for them. He talks about his struggles in both of those songs and i recommend paying really close attention to the lyrics for those songs because he really does pour his heart out in those songs, but all the songs on his mix-type are pretty good. This is a long comment but I hope you'll read it and start reacting to Suga's mixtape ❤ Min Yoongi was born on March 9th, 1993 in Daegu, South Korea and is currently 24 years old. Yoongi started playing the piano at a very young age, and, according to the lyrics in his solo (First Love by Suga) the piano was the only thing that seemed to stay by his side throughout all of his hardships. Through these lyrics we can see how much of an impact music had on his life even at such a young age. As he grew older, Suga began to grow an interest in producing music. At the age of 13, he wrote songs, created original beats, and worked in a music studio. Eventually, Yoongi got the nerve to tell his parents about his desire to pursue his dream of becoming a musical artist. But, his parents were strongly opposed to the idea and discouraged him from anything that remotely related to music. Suga revealed that at one point his parents had thrown away all of his written songs, hoping that he would focus more on his studies than on his musical interests. In another interview, Suga had also revealed that his parents had taken abusive measures to keep him from becoming an artist. (*Although, before you jump to conclusions about his parents, please keep in mind that Yoongi has forgiven his parents and respects them now more than ever.*) *“As for me...[my parents] were very much against [me becoming a rapper] to make me reconsider [my choice], they hit [me] and fought, and things like this...so I made music [under those circumstances].” -SUGA* Even though his parents were strongly against his ambitions, Yoongi persevered. He never stopped or gave in to his parent’s wishes, only because he felt that strongly for his love of music. He left his hometown Daegu and went to Seoul. At the age of 16, Suga set out to make more music, this time without his parent’s permission. At the time, things for Yoongi had been quite rocky. He worked as a composer and a performer, but not many people would come to his shows or buy his CD’s. He was so financially unstable that every day he had to choose between starving himself or riding the bus home (and he always choose to starve 😭💔), because he was too poor to pay for both food and transportation. Even so, he helped produce mixtapes with other rappers in Daegu and continued to work in the music studio despite these unfortunate circumstances. He even produced songs for others but in the end it gets ripped off/he doesn't get paid. And as if all this weren’t enough, the atmosphere of the people around him, some of which were loved ones, became toxic. People told him that he would never make it as an artist, that he would make his family go bankrupt if he continued to do things like this. He later joined an underground crew called D-Town and produced many songs for other artists, such as Reflow. It has not been said what happened between D-Town and Suga, but it is known that this is when he was rumored to have started working for a man named Bang Shi Hyuk, also known as the main man behind BigHit Entertainment, the company of BTS. But of course, tragedy had to strike yet again. Yoongi started to look for a part-time job because he needs money to make music and to live so he worked as a part timer delivering meals to people with a motorcycle and then he suffered from a major accident leaving him with an injured shoulder. The exact details of Suga’s shoulder injury has not been addressed upfront, but it has been referenced to in his lyrics several times. (The Last by Agust D) His shoulder injury seemed to have been the last straw. He thought about giving up everything because of it-his dreams, his career, his future. After all, everything he did seemed to end in suffering. What was the point in continuing to do what he loved if it only caused him pain? Yoongi has been suffering from mental illnesses since his pre-debut days. As we all know, depression and anxiety aren’t just things that go away with time, which means that Yoongi has been battling these disorders even before BTS came about. He had been suffering for years on his own, with no one to help him. And yet, he still managed to pull through in the end. But, that’s when he realized something. Throughout all of this shit that he had gone through, he realized that the only thing that remained by his side was his piano, which from a greater perspective probably represents music as a whole. Even though his love for music came with a lot of suffering, it was also the one thing that had given him happiness and encouragement throughout all of his journey. So, with the help of his first love, he decided to keep fighting. Similarly to the atmosphere surrounding Suga during his music studio days, people made fun of BTS, saying that they would never make it as an idol group, that they were fools. That BTS was a joke, a group that would always remain in the shadows of major idol groups and would later fade into the background. Other artists dissed them and tried hard to drag down their name. But that didn’t stop Yoongi, nor any of the other members. The members of BTS fought their way to the top through hard work and dedication, proving everyone they knew wrong. They worked their asses off and slowly began to rise to fame. Suga’s parents did not support him for the first year since BTS’ debut. But as time went on, his parents slowly began to loosen up after seeing how much of an effect music had on him, and then eventually they became their son’s #1 supporters. Yoongi first acknowledged his parents at a concert, giving a speech about his experiences and then, overcome with emotions, began to cry as he bowed to his parents in the audience. Yoongi is known as the member who is the best at hiding his feelings resulting in him coming off as cold and isolated, which is definitely not the case-he’s anything but that. He’s hard-working, wise, and is often referred to as a genius lyricist. He truly cares for others, he’s just not very good at showing it. Joke is not a diss for Bobby, but yes, they had a beef. In 2014, Bobby participated in the song, Come Here by Masta Wu and has a verse that was pointed out as directed at RM. RM responded in MAMA in 2014 in his "battle" with Zico (Block B). There are several articles on this and an interview in which RM talks about it.

I'd say there's a lot of Hip Hop/rap artists in the kmusic scene. It depends on what your looking for. If you want hip hop/r&b there's Dean, Zion T, Crush, Jay Park. Jay Park was recently signed to Roc Nation(Jay Z's label), but in Korea he has his own company called AOMG. He's a singer. rapper, dancer and producer. He has a lot of songs that, like BTS have a blend of American and Korean styles. Some of his more popular tracks are "Mommae", "Me Like Yuh", "Yacht", and "Forget about you". Dean is also versatile featuring and collaborating on many tracks including Eric Bellinger for a track called "I'm Not Sorry" and Suran-"1+1=0", He's very popular among korean hip hop/rap artists such as Dio, Gaekko, Heize. Some good tracks from him are: "I'm Not Sorry", and "Instagram". He's also apart of a subgoup called Fanxychild and realeased a song with them and Millic called "Paradise". In Fanxychild, there's also a rapper called Zico. He's also the leader of a kpop boy group called Block B. Zico has some good songs such as Artist, ANTI(feat G.Soul), and Bermuda Triangle(feat Crush and Dean). There's also Jessi a Jersey native soloist. Some popular songs of hers are Gucci, Arrived, DPR Live is pretty good Their songs "Martini Blue" "Right Here Right Now(feat LOCO and Jay Park)" and "Thirst" Flowsik is one of my faves. I love his voice SOme hot tracks "Dae 1(feat Daegunz)", "eung freestyle with live, Sik-k, Punchnello, Owen Ovadoz, and Flowsik. Flowsik also worked with BTS a few times. He even did his own live freestyle to Mic Drop and if I'm honest his bars were better than Desiigner

Slower flow but great song.*The Last* is fantastic but you have to pay attention to the lyrics, there's no mv. In the video it shows at first how he's tied and held down by a Kpop/idol image, but with his mixtape he frees himself from it and shows his "other self" - underground rapper Agust D (BTW... It's SUGA backwards with DT - Daegu Town, his past rappers crew). Like, frees his hip-hop soul from that kpop world standards LOL

Yall should react to the SMTM6 Producer Cypher, SMTM is a Korean competition show similar to The Voice or X-Factor but only for rappers. They have a group of like 8 established and successful hip hop artists judge and mentor hip-hop hopefuls and the contestants are put against each other in freestyle battles and different challenges every week. It's a crazy popular show in South Korea, and this cypher is from the mentors of season 6. It's really cool though cause the producers are split into 4 teams of 2: Zico (a very successful rapper who works in a group and also as a solo artist who writes and produces for other artists) & Dean (a r&b singer who started out as a rapper but found success as a singer and writer/producer) are one team. Jay Park (SUPER successful singer/rapper/dancer who's from Seattle, he actually just got signed to Roc Nation) and DOK2 (another super successful rapper who built his own label from the ground up, he basically rejected offers from big labels and companies and decided to do it himself, which worked out great for him). These 2 teams represent newer hip-hop, they're younger and could be comparable to the more modern rap we hear nowadays. Then there's team Dynamic Duo (Gaeko and Choiza) they're a rap duo who have been in the game for close to 20 years and have had massive mainstream hits, they started their own label and have helped launched the careers of other big hip-hop artists. And then Team Bizzy and Tiger JK who are considered some of the OGs of Korean rap (Tiger JK especially, with his rap crew Drunken Tiger are credited for bringing rap and hip-hop mainstream in Korea, they have their own label that they founded with Tiger JKs wife Tasha/Yoon Mirae who is also a rapper/singer). These two teams represent more of an old school type of hip hop and even in this cypher you can hear it in the way they rap. So that made this all really interesting and I'm really curious to see what you guys would think of it. Agust D a.k.a Suga DT (DT is Daegu Town, his home town and the rap group he was in during his teens) If you turn on CC, you get aaaaall of the lyrics. He's essentially being savage towards the rappers and others who talk shit about him and say he isn't talented and 'made it easy' by becoming an Idol. The lyrics are incredible, he and RM are both known for their productions, flow and lyricism. They're both so real, it's why they make a good team :)
