@george_flyer Let’s be correct: Smartwings previously flew to Bern with a Boeing 737-800 (OK-TVY) a few years ago. Recently, they made another visit, this time bringing the Boeing 737 MAX (OK-SWJ) to Bern for the first time.

I remember flying into and out of Bern in June 1983 in a BA146 operated by Dan Air. We had a one week holiday in Grindelwald, how things have changed. Those were the days, scary when you realise that was over 41 years ago.

Warum kein Anflug und kein Abflug über das Aaretal (Münsingen)?

Die Sicht war etwas neblig, weshalb die Piloten das Instrumentenlandesystem (ILS) für die Anflüge auf die Piste 14 nutzen wollten. Da der Wind sehr schwach war, konnte direkt von Piste 32 aus gestartet werden, was den Flug in Richtung Deutschland erheblich erleichtert - eine Umfliegung über Rubigen und Münsingen war nicht erforderlich. Aber das sind nur meine Annahmen. Natürlich hatten die Piloten noch weitere Vorgaben und Überlegungen, die in ihren Planungen eine Rolle spielten.

Matt my good friend, nice video & I am still swamped with legal matters with my parents estate after they passed away. This is 1 jet I would not pilot or be a passenger. Their MCAS system ( maneuvering control augmentation system ) was/is not reliable. The jet would go into a dive when engaged at random times. To disengage there is a switch that opens the circuit or should, but did not, so the pilots could hand fly and level out. That is what caused the tragic crashes per the NTSB/FAA. Boeing stated the system was repaired & working properly , but there were 2 more crashes after they reported that info. I recommend to not fly on this jet as a passenger. A few years back, my wife and I were scheduled to fly to Iceland on one of the first Boeing 737 MAX flights. However, the aircraft was grounded, and we ended up on a classic Boeing 757 instead. I was thrilled! It was such a reliable and powerful aircraft, and I felt relieved knowing the 737 MAX was on the ground. Wishing you strength as you navigate your legal matters. I am currently in the Swiss Alps. We have a lot of snow and the temperature was minus 10 degrees Celsius. But the fresh mountain air is very nice! Take care, and God bless you and D! ✈️❤️
