By the way , as far as I am aware, there should be traction motors on the second wheel set on each driver carriage (front or end carriage of the train). There are some more in the middle carriages somewhere . But I'm not entirely sure which ones. Just a head up for anyone who wants to listen to traction sound. Or even record them .I'm basing this assumption off of the 345 emus .

Strange how these are not fitted with LED headlights. I know they have the yellow ends, but it’s odd for new stock not to now

Nice view of inside class 720. Rayleigh was my last work place but always catch Class 321 since 2009 until last year before March's first lockdown days. I will missed 321s but I'll looking forward with 720s.

As someone who uses a wheelchair the Class 321’s were awful trains. I’d get dumped by the doors. Have to try and move about with people getting on and off. Have groins in my face on busy trains; every time the doors opened in the winter I’d freeze. They were a design that gave no consideration to disabled people. These, however, are a vast improvement. Great to see how Greater Anglia have upgraded their fleet so significantly.

That's the only unfortunate thing about the 321s sadly (Excluding the refurb ones)

YES!!, not a fan of the fronts but their okay, still excited about them. but I will really miss the mk3 brels. I hope they at least save a few 321s and 317s

Some 317's will be kept for a while on the Hertford East branch only, until the platform extensions are sorted to accomodate 10-car 720's, although a 5-car 720 has roughly the same amount of seats as an 8-car 317 or 321. Class 321's and 379's will go as more 720's enter traffic.

@@bb-3653 379's are going because of high leasing costs and fleet standardisation (all GA drivers will be trained on one or two fleets only). Also easier and cheaper to maintain one or two fleets. No homes for the 379's yet, so I'd assume they will kept in warm storage.

Definetly not a fan of 720 but I do have a couple questions: 1. Did a class 321 get taken out in order to make space for the 720? If so, which one? 2. How long would it take to replace the class 321's? 3. Whats gonna happen to the 321's?

1) I think so yes 2) Probably a year most likely given the fact that it took a year for all 755s to enter service 3) I believe most are getting converted to Hydrogen Class 600s. At Present Demo Refurb 321448 & Class 321437 is away from conversion as we speak

I just want them to fix the stationery announcements so they're uniform with the other class of train on the network and not aventra-ized. Other than that, I'm happy with them. GA have actually slightly impressed me, and if they fix the aforementioned bug all is well

If only I was there to see it in service. When more Class 720s are scheduled to come into service throughout this year and next year onwards. I will take the chance to go ride on it. And with extra 44 Class 720/5s to be built as it was proposed for 22 10-Car Class 720/1 and 89 5-Car Class 720/5. And with c2c to receive the 6 Class 720/6 from next year to replace the Class 387/3.

Plus is the announcement the same as on the Class 317, Class 321, Class 360 and Class 379. That the Class 720s are replacing them. And the Class 360/1s are to be cascaded to East Midlands Railway.

Wish southeastern could get these train to replace some of class 465 train and I wish southern could get these same trains to replace all of southern class 455 as there are no toilets

they can't, because 720s are overhead wires and 455/465 are third rail trains

Yes and no, if u been on a 745/755 they feel the same as them and idm them. They aren't soft but aren't hard
