FIRST EVER GUN CAM police shooting - Vernon, Texas officer destroys pedophile

Walter Emilio Orellana, 24 of Wichita Falls, was sentenced to 40 years in prison on Thursday for shooting a Vernon Police officer with a sawed off shotgun last year. The sentence was handed out in the 46th District Court after a trial before a jury of eight women and four men at the Wilbarger County Courthouse.
District Attorney Staley Heatly said that this is the first known case in the world where an officer-involved shooting was captured by a gun camera.
Taking center stage during the trial was dramatic video, played for the jury, from three different cameras, which captured the two-minute long incident in which Officer Session confronted Orellana on April 27, 2019. Officer Session was shot in the shoulder by a 20-gauge shotgun blast during the incident. Session received 41 pellet wounds to his shoulder. When a new inmate comes in, the others will test him. This is usually in the form of an inmate taking his stuff and seeing how he reacts. If the new guy fights back, they generally won't mess with him. If he acts like a punk and cries, runs his mouth, or worse, tells the nearest CO; then he's a punk and they're going to make life miserable for him. When you hear about a group of inmates jumping on one inmate and beating the shit out of him, it's usually over some business. Maybe the guy owed the wrong person. Sometimes it's a gang thing. Sometimes it's just a gang jumping in a new member. But this whole thing about "honor among inmates" is bullshit. It's a jungle in there and the law of the jungle prevails. They're either predator or prey, no matter what their crime was.

Forget those romantic notions of "jailhouse justice". That's hollyweird old movie crap. As a Correctional Officer, I saw first hand how it is in prison. Basically, the law of the jungle applies. Inmates aren't impressed by other inmates' criminal records. They are all just interested in what they can get from each other. When you hear about an inmate getting beaten up, it's usually a personal beef. He probably disrespected the wrong guy, or took something that didn't belong to him, or he owed a debt and didn't pay.

I agree with all these four previous comments but one thing he didn’t do was call out on the radio that the event had happened it didn’t sound like he had already radioed that he was making contact and then after the shots were fired he didn’t notify anybody shots were fired for what seems like an eternity was probably only eight seconds but I didn’t get to see the entire video all I know is that after shit like that goes down you’d want to get on the radio and get some of your boys headed your way. Yep! In Jr. High a kid stepped on my hand and my little finger was almost completely severed at the first joint except for a very thin piece of skin holding it on and some tendons. I felt nothing. My mom came to school and tool me to the doctor. At the doctors office a nurse kept trying to get me to take a pain killer pill. I refused. About 2 hours after the incident I felt a pulsing sensation and like a switch turned on pain came like a Freight train. Adrenaline is a very powerful force!

@@impregnate. it's a scientific fact, when the adrenaline starts pumping and the mind and body goes into the "fight or flight syndrome" you WILL lose some level of fine motor skills because all the energy is getting flooded into the major muscles needed to flee, or fight. Fine motor skills like those required for smooth trigger manipulation, reloads, etc, WILL BE effected. Yes, one can train for such situations and become better at managing those challenges, but it's always going to be there. Dude is literally fighting for his life, has already taken multiple hits, and his brain is pumping out chemicals like an over pressure fire hose, you can dang well bet he has some loss of fine motor skills. Roll the dice, pay the price. In my career as a LEO, I had a shotgun pointed at me so quickly, I would have been blown away if I reached for my sidearm. By Gods grace, I got out of the deal intact. Extreme kudos to this Officer for his strong situational awareness, and proper response.
