I'm retired law enforcement and I am amazed at the patience displayed by all of the officers. I'm not sure I would have let them spray bullets around the neighborhood that long. A bystander could have been hit with all those shots being fired. But it ended about as well as you could have hoped for.

cops are afraid of being sued
@jisazuramee1006 Жыл бұрын
@@butchs2337Mostly no, cops don't want to kill children. Even if the children are shooting at them, the cops don't want to be the ones responsible for putting a bullet through the child's head. There are tons of police officers that end up being forced to shoot someone, then break down crying because they were forced to take a life, even when the officers give the person so many chances to stop and surrender. Also, partly yes. Police mainly across the U.S. are afraid of enforcing laws because any insignificant thing has the potential of becoming significant. If a white cop pulls over a black woman for speeding, and even lets her go with a warning, there's a chance that she'll cry "racism" and try to sue him or the department for it. That's not even the fault on the officers, it's this over-sensitive society that we keep reinforcing.

It's interesting how people find it extraordinary or noteworthy how the police handled the situation. This "going the extra mile" approach to avoid killing someone is the standard in Europe, be it a child or an adult. They made and guided these children. Those officers reacted as they should, and I'm impressed with the restraint, undoubtedly because they identified children. Thank God everyone survived, and dear God, help those kids like they need to be helped.

You've got to see how emotional and unreasonable your comment is, right? "Every" adult in their lives should be held accountable? Where does that stop and start, are we sending any school officials to prison for example? Who made these kids react this way, you ask? I was at a place that was both a foster care facility and a therapy boarding school when I was 14. We mixed a lot, there were kids there who had been in and out of juvenile a few times, and a few of them were sent back while I was there. My parents privately placed me there so I was getting "therapy" but I can see that a lot of those types of kids will end up being drug addicts, add to a suicide statistic or incarcerated "simply" over the fact few of them had stability anywhere. I just turned 20 and I only talk to a handful of them still, from the first place or the 3rd. It changed my life and I won't say "good" or "bad". It opened my eyes with how shitty social services of all kinds are, and even the police out there for avoiding the abuse claims myself among plenty others have given them. I was also placed in 2 other programs in Utah, A "wilderness family therapy place" and a "residential treatment center". I was at the therapy treatment program while Paris Hilton was doing her thing at Provo Canyon, Utah down the road from Ogden, UT. Go look into the troubled teen industry. The boy had entered a no contest plea to the charges that include attempted murder of a law enforcement officer stemming from the June 2021 shootout. As of now the girl has yet to be given a trial, though there was a hearing June 21st 2023 to decide if she will be charged as an adult. My guess is it depends on if she shows remorse or not.

From my wife’s life and personally being by her side for the last 5 years of it, the American Child Protective Services are absolute joke. She went through absolute hell. The homes treat you like shit, bullying and favoritism plays a huge role, and the suicide rates from those homes is at 1:40 (1 suicide for every 40 children that pass through the house that only held you for 1 year) and family homes are worse since the family pockets the money leaving the child with nothing. And this is an actual problem, the workers know the issues but don’t read the files. They just see you as a paycheck. They “take care” of so many kids that they just don’t care.
@ernestclements73983 жыл бұрын
My late wife was a child protection attorney, she was once appointed to a case in which the state's case worker, could never be reached, never showed up in court, and was otherwise out of contact with all of the parties concerned, and no one including her supervisor could figure out why,one day my wife was at a real estate closing, and to her surprise the real estate agent involved, was none other than the phantom case worker! She was running a private business, on state time! The excuse she gave, was that due to her agency having budget problems, her paychecks were slow or didn't show up at all, and " she had to make a living somehow" my wife filed a complaint with her agency, charging her with time fraud ( amongst other things) and she was fired but had the unmitigated gall to file an appeal, seeking reinstatement! My wife had to go to the state capitol, to appear before the DCFS board to testify in the appeal, ( which was denied, the case worker stayed fired) but there was no real change at the agency.

@Brandon BP bro, don't be an asshole. It's not the kids fault, as much as you want it to be. Parents and the system failed them. They just need a good time behind bars. I'm thinking forever sounds good.

Something maybe that Sheriff should fuckin LOOK INTO... It's pretty bad when an underlying theme in America is "Foster Homes are HARD", but then no one wonders how the Hell all those kids are getting on, in one. Jail is rough, Prison is even worse..
