I would say Forestella won't cover a song without knowing the meaning of the songs, emotions prove it. They are perfectionists. Vocal coaches from different countries have positive reactions to all the songs they covered.

Thanks for starting with my favourite quartet, Forestella. Other iconic songs they give great twists to are Bad Romance, Shape Of You, Despacito, Je Suis Malade and in particular, Time In A Bottle. Some truly beautiful covers are Scarborough Fair Hijo De La Luna and Nella Fantasia. They do very powerful covers of Legends Never Die, Champions, Lazenca Save Us and Inner Universe. Recently they did a great and powerful cover, as a trio, of The Show Must Go On. Sadly for music lovers, their brilliant bass, Ko Woo Rim, has commenced his eighteen months of mandatory military service. Their originals are stunning such as Save Our Lives, Utopia and White Night.

Forestella first sang their version of Bohemian Rhapsody in the KBS Immortal Songs which is a kind of remake competition music entertainment show. It made them known to the world, and later they put it in their 2nd album titled Mystique. They had concert tour under the title Mystique. This video was filmed at the Mystique encore concert, the last of the tour. I prefer their Immortal Songs video because we can see their acting in the performance better there. Here it's too dark to see it well.. I recommend Forestella Queen's best songs compilation video on KBS Jeonju channel. There are 2 more Queen renditions in addition to the very first performed Bohemian Rhapsody by Forestella.

Thank you for your reaction! This is Forestella, a crossover group from Korea. They are the winner group in the Phantom Singer 2; an audition show to form a crossover quartet like il Divo from Korea. However, as they have their own unique style, they won't be Korean il Divo, they will be the Forestella of the world! Forestella has sung great covers like Bohemian Rhapsody, We are the Champions, Hijo de la Luna, Heal the World, the Sound of Silence, My Favorite Things, Champions (mash-up of Champs league theme and Champions by Jo SuMi), Nella Fantasia, Scarborough Fair..etc etc. At the Phantom Singer All Stars they sang Time in a bottle, Je suis Malade as well. Você vai se surpreender com o trabalho do grupo... sei que todos os fãs do Forestella já deixaram registrado um pouco de sua história... gostaria de acrescentar apenas que eles cantam em 8 idiomas já registrado com a dicção perfeita ( especialistas dos respectivos países assim falaram) são elas: inglês, espanhol, italiano, francês, russo, alemão, latim e zulu lingua africana. Tenha em mente que tudo que o Forestella decide cantar eles transformam... nao apenas com suas harmonias incrives mais criando alguns arranjos e algumas vezes acrescentando novos instrumentos e mudando um pouco a música... fica uma versão muito mais linda...kkkkk Ah, vale a pena ver registro dos solos dos rapazes tambem, inclusive o Hyung Ho, conhecido como Pitta tem uma banda de rock é o roqueiro, além de contratenor é o soprano do grupo... tem videos magníficos de músicas do rock. Thank you for reacting to these amazing guys! There are two Classically trained Opera singers in the group, but they will tackle any genre. Left to right Woorim - Classically trained Basso Profundo Hyungho - Rock Countertenor (zero vocal training until he joined the group) Mingyu - Leader and Classically trained Leggiero Tenor Doohoon - Musical Theater Actor, Baritenor (Remember that last names come first in Korea. Ko, Kang, Cho, Bae are their last names) You nailed it that they were competitors on a survival elimination show called "Phantom Singer" whose goal was to create a crossover vocal quartets like II Divo. They compete 1 v. 1, then the survivors move on to duos, then trios... and finally the Quartet. Mingyu won every round and that gave him the chance to recruit the others. They are lightning in a bottle. The show has turned out several great quartets, but none have the widespread appeal of Forestella. Outstanding live performances to check out, Bad Romance (yes, the Lady Gaga song), Lazenca, Save Us, Legends Never Die, Hijo de la Luna, Time in a Bottle, Ju Suis Malade, Gondre Mandre (Dead Drunk), and Despacito. This is a really great interpretation of this song, and for me personally, it is the one I prefer listening to now and, as it is my personal opinion and preference, no haters please. Each person is allowed to have their own opinion and preference because Freddie Mercury himself was always okay with people doing covers of their music, he just always asked that it not be mediocre/boring. I’ve heard many singers trying to crossover to various genres other than what they’re known for. BUT Forestella is flawless in all from opera to hard rock, thanks to their own diversity. Mingyu & Woorim are opera singers, Doohoon is musical theatre (stared in Rent in S. Korea) & Hyungho is rock (he was lead singer of his band PITTA in college & now continues to use the name). I feel that these backgrounds are what make Forestella leaps & bounds above others. Check out their individual works too and you’ll see how they bring their strengths together and crossover musically. And, yes, I am a SoopByeol! 😊❤

I've been a fan of Queen since BEFORE they were famous. THIS is what Freddie had in mind, a mini operetta. And, I'm going to say it.. as a mum, when Cho sang "Mama just killed a man" it was like a little boy, which hit me harder than I was expecting. So, for me, the "little boy" voice worked for that phrase. Men won't get that impact. Cho and WooRim the bass are both Classically trained. Bae was trained in Theatre and Kang was a Research Chemist who sang part time in a Rock band. He had NO vocal training, prior to the programme creating Forestella. They have a recent "The Show must go on" ( without the bass, WooRim, who is doing Military Service). Their version of "Bad Romance" is, in my opinion, better than Gaga. Their "Shape of you" is 😳😂. "Time in a bottle" is beautifully done, as are their own songs. But for me, their cover of "Je suis malade" is vocal perfection and emotionally 😭😭😭

@@CrzyJen yes, and Freddie loved Opera (his duet with Montserrat Cabale on Barcelona scratches the surface of Freddie's Eclectic music tastes). Freddie (and David Bowie) took us in so many directions with music. There's a guy in China (Hua Chenyu) who is a combination of Freddie and Bowie... Rock, Rap, Reggae, Pop, SynthPop, Electronic, Broadway, Accoustic, Traditional Chinese...... He was REN before REN. I find it exciting, that if you look, you can still find innovators in music.

Welcome to Forestella! I recommend my favorite covers in this order: 1) Time in a Bottle 2) Legends never die 3) Je suis malade and then their originals: Save Our lives, Utopia, Kool, Snow Glove and Chagall's Dreams. In this group there are two singers with lyrical training: Woo-Rim (the bass) and Cho Min-gyu (the light tenor). The countertenor and who has those rock traits in his voice is an amateur singer: Kang Hyung-ho (chemical engineer by profession), and finally we have Bae Doo-Hoon who is the baritone and musical actor by profession.

kang Hyung-ho is not an amateur singer. He is a professional rock singer in his 7th year of debut and is the frontman of the rock band PITTA. He worked as a chemical researcher before becoming Forestella in 2017. But this was about 7 years ago. He also sings in the soprano range, but his identity is rock, and he is not a countertenor as he is not a professional opera singer.

Maybe you are right about the countertenor, he has a very wide range but many singers and singing teachers call him that to differentiate him from the others and because of his performances in songs like Hijo de la Luna. Various singers came together to form a new type of team, so why is the word 'non-major' attached to Hyeongho? Two singers are classical singers, one is a musical actor, and the other is a rock singer. This is because it has been 7 years since he became a rock singer. It is enough to simply introduce them like this. Musical actor Doo-hoon is majoring in acting. He doesn't learn to sing like a classical actor. You don't necessarily have to major in music to become a singer. Most singers did not major in classical music. Before pop singers debut as professionals, they are all amateurs. Hyungho is from a college band. All of the Coldplay members are from college bands, but none of them majored in music. However, no one introduces them as an amateur band. Why doesn’t the way you introduce Hyeong-ho seem natural? Why is there so much emphasis on the fact that he did not major in music? This channel first introduced a cover of Bohemian Rhapsody among Forestella's songs, and Hyeong-ho is not shown as a countertenor. He did not stand on stage as a professional singer, but as a student. If you look strictly, he is also a former amateur singer. This is because being an amateur is not the difference between whether you majored in music or not, but whether or not you are currently pursuing music as a career. But no one introduces him as an amateur singer. He only became a professional singer after his debut with Forestella. He and his older brother Ho are ultimately in the same position. In that respect, you can see how unnatural it is to introduce Hyung-ho as an amateur singer.
