The construction walls in Studios aren't just "for show", stuff is being built - at the rear of the Park Frozen land is well under way, with a huge lake and fountain show, and eventually Lion King will also be added back there too. Closer to the entrance, Studio 1 is getting an all new interior, and most of the walls in that area are where all the paving is being replaced, plus new landscaping and paving to connect to the new promenade which will lead up to the lake "hub". It's unfortunate, but necessary - as you note, Studios hasn't got a good reputation and needs this investment.
@CoasterDashАй бұрын
I agree that the park’s investment plan is necessary. It’s just strange how all previous reviews I had heard of this park also mention loads of construction fences.
@nightowlnzabАй бұрын
@@CoasterDash that’s because construction has pretty much always been a theme in Studios… the original plans were scaled back and it only took 2 years to build the park. Since then, because of that lack of initial investment and planning they’ve constantly been trying to catch up. The latest expansions started in 2018, and then Covid delayed everything and Avengers only opened in 2022 and Frozen pushed out to 2026 - but I imagine the walls will recede over the next year, as they finish the paving replacement and push towards the new lake.

Star Wars Hyperspace Mountain is such a bastardisation compared to what the original Space Mountain in Disneyland Paris used to be. Discovery Land in it's easence was themed to be this area where all the original French science fiction stories were supposed to take shape. Space Mountain was this steampunk iteration of the Trip to the moon story which was inspired by Jules Verne. When Disney acquired the Star Wars property in 2012, as a celebration they slapped some Star Wars theming to certain rides. For some reason it stuck around for Space Mountain. Quite a shame, because it's a half baked retheming built on the bones of something greater. I miss the old days..

It’s quite obvious that Disney loves making investments in Vekomas and I genuinely died at the Indiana Jones reaction😂🤣😂 Intamin clearly knows how to do better, but oh well. Lots of fun looking rides at this park, was great to see Ratatouille again, the Crush coaster looked fun, and this Tower of Terror looks amazing! But agreed, should get you very excited for the future Disney parks🇨🇳🇯🇵😄
@nightowlnzabАй бұрын
Sadly Indiana Jones at Paris was only ever meant to be a temporary ride (also I believe while it was built by Intamin, it's a Pinfari design), to be replaced with a larger ride similar to the other parks (it has heaps of spare land around it), but sadly due to DLP's initial financial and attendance issues, it never happened.

The key differenc between Phantom Manor and the Haunted Mansion: In Phantom Manor, the groom got killed by his dead soon-to-be-father-in-law (the titular phantom) on the wedding day and then started to torment and haunt his own daughter until she passed away, too. Nobody ever figured out the groom was murdered and the bride waited for her lover. Before the refurbishment in 2019, the bride would become older as the ride progressed until you found her skeletal remains at the end, implying she died of old age waiting for a man who would never come. They now keep the same young bride on all her scenes. So, yeah, a really dark and tragic take. I love it.

Indiana Jones wasn't meant to be a permanent coaster at the time of the opening, they just didn't had Space Mountain yet so it was the only thrill coaster ride option they had to offer back then. If you notice the structure of the ride like the supports it's basically a nomad fair coaster, it's a shame they build such an awesome theming for such a mediocre ride experience 😅

I’m from Paris and I can explain a bit of this : first of all, until very recently, tickets for 1 park were 25€. I remember in the 2000’s people would receive annual pass for free in the mail randomly lol. I can’t remember when that changed but my Infinity Pass (the max u can have here) was in 2019 at 500€. So contrary to US or Japan Disney there is less money. Also Studio was (still is?) the less popular by far. The other thing is that our Disney has a direct competitor called Parc Astérix adapted from one of the most popular and famous comic book in France and that one is the rollercoster park and less « kid friendly » one. Also much less expensive and with water attractions too. I think currently it’s 40e ? The park is also near Paris and popular among Belgium, Germany ans other countries who know « Astérix et Obélix »
@lilyrose8706Ай бұрын
Basically because we used to not pay much ( I remember, as an adult, going with my classmates for 25€), and because Disneyland Paris was in the red (hence probably the prices) we oc don’t get the same things as the countries who pay more will get, as decorations etc. It recently changed when they put Disney Paris under the US one but that’s really only few years ago Edit : to give you an idea, if you were staying at te hotel, kids under 7 didn’t pay the parks. Only the people above 7yo would pay.
@RGamePlayXtremeАй бұрын
I hope the Star Wars theme gets removed ASAP from Hyper space Mountain. Because you gotta think: nearly all the projection effects you see (like the TIE fighters) aren't projected on screens - they're projected on unlit meteorites. Back before it got the Star Wars overlay, these meteorites were lit and would spin around (+ there were also just more effects in general)

Did you know that Indiana Jones used to go backwards?! I rode it that way when I was like 11 years old. IT WAS AMAZING (just stick your head forward to avoid the head banging.)
Rock'n Roller coaster was my first Thrill coaster and the coaster that made me an enthusiast, I will never forgive Disney for destroying the coaster of my childhood which I got incredible memories in for a mediocre avengers coaster. What I will give to experience the original again😭

I had the *exact* opposite reaction to Flight Force and Space Mountain. Thought the theming for space mountain was terrible and absent, but really liked Avengers. Funny how people can react so differently!

That's because space mountain was initially a Jules vern theme for a big gun to shoot you too the moon. I love the change to star wars on the ride itself, but the outside teeming is very much at odds as they didn't change it.

Like your stuff but, sort of complaining about people enjoying a ride? Remember you've ridden hundreds of coasters, don't be snide about folk who haven't and are having a genuinely good time. It's like when you went to lego land and whined about wait times..... at a children's park.... you ever tried herding 10-20 excited kids onto anything? It's herding cats, and you should maybe acknowledge that. Especially given its a kids park, and your only there to get credits. Don't get a head on you.
