Today is our FIRST TIME riding on a Japanese bullet train! The Shinkansen is the fastest bullet train in Japan, and one of the fastest in the world! We had quite the experience cruising at nearly 200 miles per hour from Tokyo out to Kyoto, eating our 7-Eleven purchased snacks along the way. Once we arrive in Kyoto the sightseeing really begins! After trying the famous 7-Eleven strawberry sandwich, we visit the Golden Pavilion and the epic Fushimi Inari orange gates! Two must see sites when in Kyoto! Did we mention its cold here? We had to find somewhere to warm up so we went to the popular Ichiran! This place not only has arguably the best Ramen in the world, but the experience is awesome too! After some street food dessert, we head back to our apartment for the night. Cannot wait to see more of Kyoto!

When riding the bullet train, you should get an ekiben-station bento-(box lunch). You can eat it on your train ride. They even have ones that heat up.

In January 2020 I booked a place similar to yours for my 5 night stay with my daughter and couldn’t believe the size for the price. Loved the narrow street it was in, and just around the corner was Kamo River, with so much else being an easy walk away. Actually the entrance was in the narrow street but the apartment stretched right through the width of the block so the bedroom window opened to the road that ran along Kamo river. That was my third time in Kyoto over 30 years, and each experience has been totally different: First just hubby and I staying in a Ryokan by the canal that starts up near the ‘silver temple’; then as a family of 5 south of Kyoto station in a home stay set up on a very steep street; then in the above mentioned place with my young adult daughter. I could so easily visit and stay again. Always enjoy your videos! Best wishes, from Sydney Australia 😊

I have so enjoyed all your video's and know it will end soon which makes me sad but at the same time excited to see what the future holds. My personal hope is that you end your adventure in the Dominican Republic with at LEAST one full week (should make it 2) of sun, snorkeling, exploring and relaxing!! Then end it all by flying home with your niece!! Just would be so fun!! I don't know what the rules are or anything with the end of her mission but would still be fun for all of you!!

We cant survive winter in Japan without UNIQLO! btw, Kyoto's winter is said to get very cold due to its geographical reason. Hope you feel warm and fully enjoy the rest of your trip!

You have to go to an onsen it's a very hot bath, I never got to try one as I have tattoos. They don't let people with tattoos in, but if the hotel has one, I think you can. The gates are called Torri Gates, I would love to go to kyoto next time and take some beautiful photos of the Torri Gates. You have to go to Monkey Island. I can't remember where it is. I've only seen it on KZbin. I love the haircut and seeing you without your hat. I can't wait for uour next vlog. 💖💙🎎🎏🧧⛩️🗼XXXXX

Little corrections: the shinkansen isn't the fastest bullet train, it's the bullet train. You'll find the fastest shinkansen on the Tohoku line (320km/h), not between Tôkyô and Kyôto. In Tôkyô station at the level of the "regular" (not shinkansen) trains, there is a shop (Ekibenya Matsuri) where you can buy ekiben (bento sold in trains /stations) from all over Japan. Nothing against egg sandwiches, but it adds to the "shinkansen experience"...

Still find it so disappointing that you are not respectful of Japanese culture but Chell not taking her hat off in a restaurant. You both need to respectful of culture. Doesn't mean you travel the world if your not respectful of culture or to learn from culture instead of being American and being yourself. Even in yhe restaurant you n3ed to respect it.... I can't even

There's no rules for taking hats off in restaurants in Japan... I've lived here long time and Japanese people wear hats everywhere. Maybe if you go to ryokan or very traditional place, it would be better to take it off, but other than that no one cares.

What was Sakoku? Japan's self isolation Sakoku literally meaning "chained country" in Japanese, was the isolationist foreign policy of the Japanese Tokugawa shogunate under which for a period of 220 years (1633-1854), Japan isolated itself from the rest of the world. #history #medievalhistory #japan #japanesehistory #sakoku #samurai #tokugawa #shogun kzbin.info/www/bejne/hKCog4KjqbiBkLc
