Great video Ben, good to have you back in the air mate.

Well done Ben you lucky chap, thanks for sharing. Everything looked superbly normal. Your skills dont look to have perished. Looking forward to CP episode, you'll get the SR in there easily "Piece of cake old chap". The TV series Piece of Cake was filmed there and at South Cerney and a squadron of Spitfires was used on both fields. A great series from 1988, iirc.

Ah thanks very much. Yeh I was - as soon as I got to about circuit height those nerves drifted away and it honestly it felt like I hadn’t been away. Then on final they crept back a little!!

Another great video Ben. Love following your flights. I had my first flight in 10 weeks last Monday, so know that feeling of euphoria. Just a thought, and I apologise if I'm wrong, but were the items on the RH seat secure? A lose mobile phone falling on the floor in a low g stall or light turbulence can so easily foul a control mech.
@BenAtkinsonVideos4 жыл бұрын
Ahh thanks mike. It’s a good point, no they weren’t really. Must think about putting the In the back compartment next time - only issue is that can be fiddly. Tricky payoff. But great point and noted! Thanks for watching buddy

Great to have you back in the air Ben. The intro was fun and humour is always good! Amazing to be back in the air isn't it? Landings looked good and looking forward to the next one. You don't always have to travel long distances to visit special places and have fun trips. 🛫 👍

Great series Ben and good to see you back in the air. I was sent the link to your channel via your instructor a few weeks ago after inquiring about lessons. Can't wait to start my training, have been wanting to for years. Quick question, what made you choose to learn in the Skyranger over the other two 3-axis the club have?
@BenAtkinsonVideos4 жыл бұрын
Hey Sam! Ahh awesome ..you’ll love it! I think each aircraft is great in its own right. I’ve actually flown all 3 this week! Tough to pick an outright favourite ...maybe ill do a comparison video soon !
@BenAtkinsonVideos4 жыл бұрын
But yeh sorry to answer your question the skyranger was easier to book back then because it’s cold in the winter not many others wanted it!
@RoryOnAir4 жыл бұрын
Brilliant to see you back in the air Ben. The sky ranger is an absolute rocket ship one up. I’m surprised Elon Musk hasn’t asked to borrow it. 🤣

Hi Ben, Hope you are keeping well. What has got the better cruise speed out of the Ikarus C42 and the Skyranger. Never flown a Skyranger so curious. Thankyou.
@BenAtkinsonVideos4 жыл бұрын
Hey! Well it’s not a fair comparison with the two I fly, the c42 has 80hp and the skyranger has 100, but the c42 is a little bit slippier - maybe the ranger is 5/10mph quicker!

Completely delightful. So the Rotax is a 7 volt engine? Actually, I LOVE that color band tach but what's the "VOLT" label under it for? And the COMM also has an RPM display? Guess we both resort to humor at times. More seriously: not much point to attempting slow flight if you're sinking 500 fpm throughout is there? You began at 2750 and descended continuously seeking a stall passing through 2550 still gayly sinking... which rather muddies the waters, no? And the stall also! Keep up the great vids.

Another corker matey! Dat weather doe...
@benfliesuk99324 жыл бұрын
...even if you did seem to enjoy disinfecting the aircraft a little too much.
@BenAtkinsonVideos4 жыл бұрын
Hahaha. The insta version may have been a bit rude 🧐 thanks mate...out of interest on a fairly calm day in your skyranger what speed do you approach at?
@benfliesuk99324 жыл бұрын
Ben Atkinson 😂 1 up on a calm day I’m normally looking for 60-61mph. Slower than your 65 I noticed but that said, my 582 is a hell of a lot lighter than the 912s so it’s super easy to lift the nose.
@BenAtkinsonVideos4 жыл бұрын
benfliesuk yeh I think on a calmer day I can afford a little slower ...but it usually feels rock solid on approach. But true, lifting those 100 ponies needs a little more momentum. I love how your landings look niiice and nose high as you touch down
