Joss I can honestly see you obtaining yr PPL then hopefully into your IMC and night rating.. once you have those under your belt yr well on your way to becoming an instructor. Looking forward to watching more of these buddy. Its been 8 years since I last flew just before my daughter was born... damm I do miss it.

That's the plan, not sure if I'lll be able to go for the IMC and Night Rating because of my colour vision but I can become an instructor without getting those ratings. Hopefully you'll get an opportunity to get back up in the air soon!

@@Doofer911 Yup, thanks mate, thank you very much for all your great contents. You are my 2nd virtual flight instructor after the FSX learning center flight instructor. I forgot his name, Rob i guess. Now i'm flying with the X-plane as a virtual fighter pilot and sometimes as a virtual bush aviator as well. Hehe. I wish you best luck buddy, and become a real pilot (commercial pilot) and even a real flight instructor. Next year, wish me luck, i will go join the air force. See you in the real sky, Buddy ;)

@@sahas01 Yep, I'm working on 777 tutorials at the moment and I intend on going on to 747 tutorials after that. Please be patient though because the videos require a huge amount of studying, planning and scripting before I even go near the "Record" button. Not to mention all the work after recording!

Best of luck with the flying, I probably heard you in the tower at one point! Leigh is a great guy and a quality instructor. Flew with him about seven years ago!

Possibly! I did a fair bit of solo work in the circuit September/October time last year. Leigh is a great instructor, very concise with the way he teaches.

Hi Joss, just wonder if (your) flightsimming experience is in the way when learning or if it aides you during training?

Definitely, I'd say that simming has given me a fantastic foundation of knowledge to begin building real world experience onto. However there's habits you can only really learn flying for real, such as the "scan" I talked about in this video.

I got incredibly lucky and got a job at my local flying school and my overtime there pays for my training. So the other component I would recommend is to start thinking about how you're going to pay for flight training as well. Also, I'm not sure where in the world you are but try to pick up some PPL theory books and start learning those books. They will teach you about aviation in so much more detail than my videos and when you're ready to start training, you'll be ready to sit the theory exams straight away.
