First Ftrost Winter Perch Fishing

Woke up in the morning, looked throug the window and there was frost everyehere. Couldn't miss opportunity to catch first frost perch, first calendar witer perch. Went to river, later to canal and I had great fun catching them!

It is also worth noting that despite the trend in lure fishing of holding perch by their mouth, this is one of the DO NOTs in fish safety. The jaws on perch are quite soft, so if you hold it by the mouth and it kicks or flips, it can easily damage the fish and dislocate or break the jawbones.

In cold water slow down you retrieve, make long pause than you will start catching alot more and bigger fish! Hope that helps...

Tighten the drag mate. Don’t need it that loose, tighten it to the point you can pull the line without it breaking by hand. Nice fish!!! Well done!!! Love the videos 😊

Great video lad, I'd try drop shot if snags, i use keitech too .is it ireland or england?

Keitech is very fragile but awesome lures. I know it's shame to say but i never did drop shoting 😅 there is so many different ways of fishing and so little time. But time for drop shot will coma as well. I'm in England

Thanks you 🤝 i do agree, break was too loose. It is less forgiving with tight drag. No actual reason, sometimes i like to fish with tight drag, sometimes with loose. Tight drag gives more fight for rod, loose drag is gentle for fish 🎣
