Thanks for the news! Regarding Tiana's ride, I don't hate it as much as I did when I saw the disney recording of it, your ride-through made it look a lot better. I am pretty disappointed overall when you consider how much they took out, to replace it with very little - what they have is cool! But it's pretty empty overall. That's my thoughts on it. I'm sure I'll enjoy it when I finally get to ride it. They majorly dropped the ball not having Dr Facilier in the lift hill though.

Jeez this is such a downgrade and looks absolutely boring. It doesn't even tell a story, the animated projections are the worst plastic-y 3D animation I've seen in decades. The Afro Cuban music does not go, at all, and I'm Cuban. You see Ray in this, and he sings, yet he's dead at this point in the story. Absolutely ridiculous and Sharita Williams has another projection map heavy attraction failure on her resume.

Unfortunately, Bob Iger was right.... It's incredibly boring and lackluster. It completely falls flat and Imagineering clearly missed a perfect opportunity to make it a great ride for all. It's like a bad sequel we never wanted, straight to video or Disney+!

@@Primogen16 There were several reports from multiple outlets that he was extremely disappointed with the ride and that he was quoted as saying it was completely lackluster and incredibly boring, after he did the initial walk through about a month and a half ago.

Tiana's. I don't have to say a thing. Bob Iger already said it for me. Haunted Mansion's ideas are actually looking better. I know the gift shop will be tiny but maybe that works to it's advantage. Too big would be distracting.

If they JUST brought back facilier and had "are you ready!?" playing during the ascent, that woulda been perfect for suspense and thrill building. But no, they have a clearly confused as heck "plot". They kept changing the plot of the ride and it shows. they originally were looking for some special secret spice for a jambalaya, and you can see this in the final song, Tiana's outfit and even Mama Odie shrinking you. Apparently it was changed to looking for Louis's trumpet and now this. There was also allegedly a stronger focus on showing off Tiana's co-op operations originally too. This ride is just a scrapbook of ideas. Nothing is cohesive and polished.

I was thinking the exact same thing! Very thrown together scenes that don’t flow and they missed a lot that could have made this attraction HUGE! Definitely disappointing!

Why would they change the plot in the middle of building the ride? 🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️ That doesn’t make sense!! Yeah, it would’ve been cool going up with boom boom boom are you ready then you drop with the fluorescent faces. I think the going down the bayou part is fine though.

@@hhansanfranz It adapted the animated sequences from Song of the South, which were based on the Uncle Remus folk tales. The ride took those sequences and combined them into one single continuous story (rather than three separate stories like the movie), arranging them so that the story's climax would coincide with the final drop (which would also help make that final drop feel much more intimidating and daunting with the story cues to match). It's not the most groundbreaking story, but it matched well with the ride layout so they could work off of each other. Without those story beats that the original was built around, this just feels really flat and boring, with the drops just randomly being there for no real reason (rather than the dramatic focus of the story).

Nah that's not the issue. The Disney version Br'er Rabbit can stay locked away for good with his weird pro-slavery self. This ride is gorgeous but long stretches of not much happening, I think it works tho.

Princess and the Frog was a great movie with a great story, but this ride didn't do the story justice. It was very bare and there were hardly any songs from the movie. As well as hardly any characters from the movie. It was like if you rode The Three Caballeros (in the Mexico pavilion in Epcot) with just Donald Duck.

4:05 - that is NOT a large piece of glass. It is theatrical scrim. "fabric" - painted. (For this effect in America Adventure, they are using paint which glows under blacklight) --- Scrim is also used in Carousel of Progress on the side rooms of the first three acts. Scrim is also used in the Haunted Mansion stretching room ceiling

After watching the POV of the new ride, I have to say that I found the whole thing underwhelming. Sure it has some cutting edge animatronics and has some projections that flows and blends in well with the ride’s ascetics, but story wise it’s just so bland and safe that the only thrills you get out of the whole experience are the drops, which were pretty much already there in the previous iteration of the ride. I’m well aware of the problematic origin of the characters from the original versions of the ride but at least there was an engaging story to the ride, plus the songs were memorable and catchy unlike the current version. I’m sure that many will enjoy this version of splash mountain, but to me it’ll never hold a candle to the old school Disney imagineering the original ride had to offer.

I would rather get sick off the exhaust fumes from the Autotopia cars all day then to ride this abomination! No story, no drama, no excitement. It’s beyond boring! Park goers we really need to send Disney a clear message as they think they can do no wrong. No one should ride this. Bypass this attraction every time you go to the park. Until we band together and send them a clear message, they will not change their behavior!

Splash Mtn was better. Music was better. Character/theming was better.,Holding out hope this is better in person. Do like how the rider is “shrunk down”, that’s creative. Looks really pretty. Heartbroken they didn’t include Pansy, Poppy and Petunia.

But Tiana's does have a plot... On the outside humans move in and destroy all the animal homes and put up useless commercial signs. Inside one finds the crocodile in the dark who just ate all the happy little creatures from before the change. Moma Odie has a drinking problem and litters the place with her liquor bottles. The ride is catagorically a catastrophic downgrade by ALL metrics.

Too much darkness w/noting going on. I know it’s Tianas’ bayou adventure, but why were Prince Naveen & Charlotte regulated to a VERY minor cameo at the end🧐Naveen could have helped a little w/looking for the missing ingredient. Charlotte probably wouldn’t have been the bayou though 😅 Still from what I’ve seen it’s not a bad ride, just needs more going on.

I think the people who vehemently hate Tiana's were always going to, on principle, regardless of how the ride's quality ended up being, and that's ridiculously unfair. But, that doesn't mean the ride can't be criticized. The biggest problem with it is there's no tension - no villain, no danger. Not even the final drop is framed as something scary within the ride's story. That's boring. Splash Mountain was my favorite ride and I'll always miss it, but this isn't bad, the story just needs work. Where is Dr Facilier?

I just don't like the reason why they changed it. Tony Baxter a legend imagineer was obviously upset about the change because he worked with black groups to make sure they put nothing racist in the ride. Oh well whoever screams the loudest gets their way i guess.

I expected more from WDWNT than just being really dismissive "people that want to hate it are just gonna hate it", they didn't report on the ride outages, they didn't show frontierland completely full of people waiting, they didn't show that the first Louis animatronic is already broken and not moving mouth with voice track. 👎🏼

soft open means testing the waters to see what they can fix and they will add more as they move froward like they did with the little mermaid. alot of the fish was added to it. where she Combs her hair on the top of the wall that was improved a year later. they add things to make it better. this is just them getting the ride done. and rides are going to break, heck cars ride broke alot in recent weeks. it just because they are constantly running. it doesn't mean its doomed.

16 American guests probably way significantly more than 16 Japanese guests, so not sure why the boats are flooding on the Frozen ride. If they would have built them to American standards they'd be just fine! :)

Is it better than splash mountain no, but I think it’s good. I think that some scenes feel empty, but I think it’s one of the better rethemes to a ride. In my opinion it’s better than frozen !

From what I can tell from the video, it looks good but not great like Splash was. It has about as much story as Splash did, but it could use a few more animatronic scenes, the mushroom and cavern sequences before the big drop aren’t scary enough, and the music isn’t as good as the Splash songs.

Just another voice here but it seems fun. Animatronics are great! My guess is there was some nervousness about the villain as he practiced “voodoo” which in many cultures isn’t scary ( anymore than Catholicism might be to some..). I think Disney did an 8 out of 10 on the rehab. There are many children of color (and children’s/adults of all colors) who will see themselves here. That’s amazing and honestly worth a great deal.

People whining about how much they have taken out of Splash to create Tiana, yes there are fewer animatronics but not that many, id rather have fewer but better animatronics than the irrelevent ones that were in Splash, also Splash had some areas where there wasnt muxh going on, I think Tianas is beautiful and will be even better once we get to ride it..
