Great to see festivals being held. Have to say I'm more a fan of the livelier ones, personally. Can't wait for this year's winter festivals where we strip down to a fundoshi (in January), douse ourselves in ice water, and march up a mountain bearing torches before an all-out brawl for the bag of holy wood chips.

I filmed two very active fire festivals in Omihachiman back in March and April, Sagicho and Hachiman Matsuri respectively. Im putting the video together but got a bit of writting block on those. Very exciting footage though!

Even though Kyoto isn't my favorite place, that was a great video (I'm not a fan of the crowds.)

Yeah not a fan of hot, crowded places myself either, but had to see it again after all that time.

Lots of respect to the participants and observers of the Gion Matsuri, it looked like the weather was a bit on the hot side that day. If I were there, I would've been arrested for behaving like it was the Hadaka Matsuri because of the weather.

They had people going around handing out salt electrolyte candy and tea to participants, many of whom still were in masks, It was hot in the shade so I cant imagine the people pulling, good show from them

When I was there it was raining!! The tapestries were covered in clear plastic.🥵
