Delicate manoeuvring as Marc tries to fit the first glass into our antique greenhouse restoration and cistern transformation.
We live in a medieval castle with a huge, derelict estate in southern France. Follow our ambitious garden projects, from vineyards to formal gardens, tropical plants to self-sustainability. Our project is enormous and our enthusiasm contagious. We'd love you to join us.

Well done Marc. In a year or two your land will be producing lots of fruit from your orchard, and the grapes will be producing delicious fruit. I’m looking forward to the greenhouse project. Clement was a huge help and so was Margot.

Dry fit the glass first. With a vintage frame like that you need to measure each opening as the measurements could be off by a little as you have found. It is going to look wonderful when you are done. Thank you for saving this wonderful greenhouse. The second greenhouse is beautiful. I am excited to see it restored and put in place.

Wow, that will be a lot of table grapes! But so fun to have so many kinds, not to mention helping to preserve biodiversity. I’m sure that the birds and animals will help you eat whatever you can’t. I know that I have to race the birds to my blueberries, and have decided it’s my contribution to their lives. 🙂

So cool you can plant all those rare type of table grapes. Some day I will try plant a few but only after I buy wire to make gofer baskets for the roots, ground squirrels here eat the roots of everything. And I’ll have to have a fence to keep deer out. Better safe than sorry with glass and carry on with other tasks. The larger pieces of glass are more scary to work with best off getting someone in to put those in then for the outside. Grapes for jellies and jams and cordials sounds wonderful Marc. Rosieres will be the envy of your part of France for how self-functioning and beautiful this garden will be as much as your home I think tours will be popular :) Margot was a great help as was Clement. Please give our best wishes to Amy and your recovering birds :) hugs to Juliette and Clement.

I make a nice salad with the elongated black grapes - I use lettuces incl. spinach. It is meant to mimic a Greek salad and use the grapes instead of tomatoes. Use lettuce grapes feta cheese, black olives, cucumbers, yogurt, cucumbers or Greek dressing.
