You are right Paul, that down pipe will get VERY HOT!! I suggest in addition to wrapping the pipe, look into having the inside ceramic coated. Ceramic coating is very effective in keeping exhaust temps in check on custom motorcycle exhaust to the point that it keeps the chrome from bluing. Probably would be a great application for your needs.
@steinjonah660

The best advice Paul can get, I have seen many tubes and tv's showing the benefit of the ceramic cote. A bit extra now will save a lot later Claims the the coated exhausts even increase power is made Matt is having big heat problems in the engine bay of his wrecker. Lets learn from his "mistakes:

I thought the offroad rollback was basically going to build itself in 3 episodes. 😂 Safety squints are particularly helpful when lying under a vehicle whether you have your eyes closed or not (and every single time I pick up an angle grinder). It's hard to see what you are cutting while trying to keep metal shards out of your eyes. I hated wearing safety glasses in mills I worked in because they fogged up all of the time. I learned to wear them and cope with the annoyance. Sprayed carb cleaner into a chainsaw jet one time. It came out of another oriface pointed directly into my eyeball. I thought surely I would lose my vision. It cost me some shop time. I survived, but I wear squints whenever using aeresol solvents now. A day with Ben in the shop probably never feels like work. Ben's jovial nature makes a big difference. Hunter does such a good job with fabrication while behind the camera. YT finally recommended Sawdust and Lugnuts. I'm going to check out more content. Have heard a lot about the heat from that turbo pipe. Any extra clearances that could be done on the cab would probably help. My BF had a CJ-7 with fenderwell headers and his floor would get very hot. He put some thick industrial rubber in as floor mats. I think they were heavy duty conveyer belts that had been cut up. Helped a good bit. Maybe add a heat shield on the outside. I would work hard on the heat issue if it will get used much.

I'd suggest to wall the shop all the way including the last bay and have a half wall, like 6 feet tall to separate the camper parking from the flat floor bay *so the junk does not spill into the camper parking bay). You better have full walls on all the outside sides or the shop and mid walls inside if you want to spare on the cost of material.

I like your choice of cabs. When I was 8 yrs old my Grandfather taught me how to drive in a pickup (on the farm) like this one. Gonna be a cool rollback, another one of a kind. The new shop is going to be quite useful but the only problem is it will fill up quick and not then won't be big enough. They never are no matter what size you build them. I have a 50 X 100' and only have space to hold two additional cars in and out. It could hold 24 cars if it wasn't for the junk (to some people) that I don't really want to get rid of in case I need it. A typical packrat. I have a couple race cars and a couple others sitting in it plus a friends "Thing" that she would like to sell. It is built for a sand buggy. The body is unaltered but it has like two shocks per wheel, dual fuel cells, dual batteries, roll cage, racing seats with harness, turning brakes, all new gauges and I guess the best part is the porsche 6 cyl engine that hangs over the back a little. It's a very nice build with only 26 miles showing on the new speedo. It just reeks money. The owner's brother had it built and trailered it to car shows. It's for sale, let me know if you're interested. She doesn't have a title to this one but there is another nice road version with a stroker engine plus a whole lot more that he built to drive that does have a title. He lived in CA and passed and left them to her. The sand one needs to be where there is sand and not here in Ohio. It's not made for mud and is too nice to use it for that anyway. Both have had a lot of money spent on them. It's been 8 - 10 years since they have been started so fuel and probably brakes will need to be worked on. I think it would take $10,000. to buy the sand buggy since I heard he had over $25,000. in it when he had it built. He bought a 911 just to get the engine for it. A couple batteries and some fresh fuel and a Fab Rats flag and it would be ready for your neck of the woods. I wish I could find someone interested in it from somewhere that has dunes to get it out of my shop. It's a 20 yr old new machine with 26 miles.

Flipping that part to cut in the band saw is a no-no. DO NOT hold onto a part being cut. It will only take once for it to catch and spin in your hand. Take it from someone with 30 years industrial maintenance experience. I would have NEVER listened to Hunter on this.

Hi Paul, I usually don't comment on builds but the discharge of the turbo is a pretty sharp turn downwards and might create back pressure or poor flow at that acute angle. If you tipped the turbo down 10 degrees front to back you maybe wouldn't have had to mitre that discharge fitting, just adjust the long sweep bend at the bottom 10 degrees to get back level. Looks like lots of height under the hood? Second option is cut the firewall. Just suggestions. I really like this build, should be great when finished. Happy Fathers Day to all the Dads on your team!

HAPPY FATHERS DAY GUYS!! And your little fire trick with the cottonwood fluff was cool 😎. But imagine doing that in Australia on 100 acres of spider web. That's a real cool thing to see. Your shop is gonna be awesome. A suggestion for your blinker switch, use a toggal switch that you turn on the left turn signal, and right for the right turn signal and center turns it off. And have a separate switch for the hazard lights.

We had a spot this year in the county below us. It was so hot / dry and so much cottonwood seeds blowing. A home cough on fire. Then the cottonwood seeds blew threw the fire and started other dry things on fire up and down the block. Backyards, trees, bushes and something else. The fire department worked on the house and the owners of the other places put out the small fires.
