Thanks for another great video Kip. It was interesting and enjoyable. So glad your Dad likes the auto steer!!! Just takes time to learn everything but yeah for him, he has it down pat now so to speak. My compliments to your Dad!!!!!! Once he got done with the learning curve, he was off and running with it. Good for him. You and dad and your brothers are coming right along with your corn planting. You are going to have it done before you know it. Field work coming right along in front of your planter. Good going. You all take care and be safe. Thanks for everything Kip. The Iowa farm boy. Steve.

Cool watching the older generation trying new technology. The smile when you ask how he liked it was awesome. His generation isn't easily impressed so nice.

I just imagined, how these videos would be, if your father would make them, with just the minimum words spoken! 😉 But, on the other hand, one word can be sufficient, like "fabulous".

sometimes you have to give up something to gain i worked on a farm for a good bit and they had a tillage tool they really needed 300 horse to pull it but the tractor only had 225 horse needless to say i did all i could do to save it but ended up smoking the engine Kip may not be at that point with this planter and tractor combo i was only popping the idea out there @@TheRealJesseStoltzfus

I don't exactly want to agree or disagree with either of you. Being there's definitely a few variables what planting. Depending on the size of the planter being pulled, sometimes you may need more tire on the ground when conditions are fit or you need more ponies going up hill. But with a 16 by 30 planter a front wheel assist usually works. It's just when you get muddy or depending on the hydraulic requirements of the planter that you may need a different tractor. On the other hand, if it's that muddy you are better off with either waiting to plant or decide on something else if possible. Experience says that if you mud the crop in, the crop will be below average most of the time in our area. We're using a front wheel assist tractor on a 24 row 30 inch planter (covers 60 feet per pass/swath).

like i said ALMOST need to i am not sure how hard for sure the tractor is working i would want to see how hard it is working before pulling the trigger on making that change if it was my stuff yes a 4wd tractor would be less moveable in the field but the horse power is needed you have to choose what you rather have @@aaronbeisch4707

I can't believe how the John Deere people ran the cable in the tractor, it looks like a DIYer, not a professional.
