"Break the window with a bag or anything heavy..." Unfortunate if you're a stereotypical American there's no bag around. I also love where he's about to break the door glass, then just slides it open. Helpful if you were watching this as a crew member trying to remember what to do. *If the sliding door won't open, simply use the emergency hammer* "Okay, just break the window." (SMASH) *Or you could just slide the door open, if you can.* "WHAT!?" "Wh wouldn't you mentio- oh come on!"

This reminds me of the Thomas the Tank Engine episode Thomas and the Emergency Cable, where a passenger pulls the emergency cable for what isn't an emergency. Also reminds me of the emergency brake scene from the 2004 animated Christmas movie The Polar Express

Why do they have the hammers to break the windows? In the US we've had windows with a strip to pull to remove them for years.

Hello from Canada: As a retired industrial electronic technician, I have had over 1 million Km. on the road in North America. In Canada, with our huge land area, and very low population density, comparing terrain and rail with countries such as the U.K. there are big differences. Likewise the British English varies at random (to my ears) from rather unscrutable at times to (more frequently) very pleasant and easy to adjust to. where Children are speaking they may often have routine expressions and names for common items that are very different from the names for similar items here. But, as one who loves public speaking and languages, this is fun also! All that said, I see these safety videos as excellect and also very important for any future tourists visiting. they refer to a number of hazards that would be far less prevalent here, especially with regard to presence on the tracks. Presence on RR tracks is dangerous enough in general, but I see the danger in UK and higher density population countries as much greater than one would normally expect in Canada, as things here are so spread out, and the openness is often taken too much for granted. (It might also be a good idea to warn police and train staff to further this warning more pervasively when and where tourists may be present, as Canadians may ell not be the only ones that are not as acutely aware of this added ongoing danger. Other than that, I wounder if I am going to see somebody make a video of the interior of these trains, passengers and all. Then we would get a more enhanced e-experience of what riding these trains might be.

Late reply I know but this video is from around 2001, but as of January 2019 First Great Western (now called Great Western Railway) still run some HSTs (I think until late March) as not all the replacement Class 80x IETs are in service yet. But just search "Great Western Railway HST onboard" or "GWR HST onboard" here on KZbin. As for the Class 180 Adelantes, First Great Western withdrew them in 2009, reintroduced them in 2012 and withdrew them again as Great Western Railway in 2017. Today they can be found on Grand Central and Hull Trains on the East Coast Main Line. Search for "Grand Central Class 180 onboard" or "Hull Trains Class 180 onboard" here on KZbin.
