We are a retired military family and was stationed on Guam many years ago. Love the island. You will acclimate just remember to stay well hydrated. Hafa Adai!

If you need Dukes, I will send some! My dad was stationed at Subic Bay, PI in the early 70s. For three years we suffered with Miracle Whip. It was not fun. The first thing I think I ate when we got back stateside was a tomato sandwich with about a half jar of Dukes!

Hydration will help with the heat. They make “cool” towels that you can wet and wrong out then put around your neck that will help with the heat, along with sun hats

Moving is always a challenge when a vehicle has to be shipped. Our family lived in Japan during 911 and we were unable to drive our own vehicles for over 3 months. Maybe look into a base taxi or see if Hubby’s command or a moving sponsor(don’t know that the AF calls it) can assist with providing transportation for commissary runs. You will find that favorite foods are available regionally, so maybe you can find a few good substitutions.

We just yesterday picked up a rental car for the month. There is a large rental community here where people rent their own vehicles for the day, week, or month at the time. So, now we have a 7 seater for the next month. It doesn't transport all of us at once, but it's working out well so far!

Hi! We are a homeschooling family yes. But, at this time, we decided to send the kiddos to school for the rest of this year. Our books were all packed up in February and won't arrive to the island until late June or early July. So, we thought it would give them something to do to go to school for these next two months and also check out some of the clubs and meet some of the teachers at the school. Homeschoolers here are allowed to participate in the clubs and sports at school. So, this just gives them a way in to that community while also getting them out of the hotel lodging everyday.
