I've heard Apple phones are are cheaper in Canada however don't forget the sales tax which ranges from 5-15% depending on the province. Sometimes the phone carriers will subsidize the cost of the phone as I got an iPhone XR in Feb 2020 for a 2 year contract for $10/mth. However keep in mind most cellphone bills in Canada are more pricier.

That can be little tough because even in Canada being vegetarian is little challenging u can enjoy your jain food if either u specially request them or cook at home by yourself!!

I don't think there is specially jain food without onions and potatoes and garlic , but yeah you can find vegetarian food , though the cafe / mess will be the same for all students , as veg population is less in Canada , there is no profit in setting up an veg cafetaria /jain cafeteria

Sharing is a great idea but make sure to eliminate any moochers. Preferably collect all money before shopping. And if you feel in the group some is being bought that you don't need or eat, make that clear. Ideally the joint system is great for bigger shared items and you buy personal things like snacks. But to each their own. In groups sometimes it gets too easy to get taken advantage.
