Man, I gotta go out and get me some lakers through the ice. They put up such an epic fight! Clayton, you probably have figured it out by now, but I think you lost a lot of fish due to your drag being too tight, giving the fish leverage when they head shake. If your drag is set so they only take out line, then the lure can't "spring back" and pop out of their mouth (which happens if the drag is too tight). That or they're short striking the lure. Again I'm sure you already know this but I figured I'd mention it. Loved the video, your son absolutely smashed it! I'll make sure to stay tuned for more. Have a good one Clayton!
@ClaytonSchickOutdoors5 жыл бұрын
Cheers dude! There were a few reasons why I lost some fish this day, and that being one of them :)

Got a quick question, dont usually see ya loose fish like that. From what I see those rods have a hard time setting with a single hook jig style compared to carter using the open treble hook. Without being biased do you believe this was a mix of your fault and being "rusty" or because of the back bone while using a single hook?
@ClaytonSchickOutdoors5 жыл бұрын
My fault a lot.... I was hitting them when the rod was not closer to the ice to really give it to them... The one I lost at the hole I had him hooked good and then the one I landed I also gave it to him. The next day (which will be the next video I don't lose one fish :)

For every fish, besides lake trout. Lake Trout can burp and release the air from their air bladders. Really anything over 35 is dangerous for most fish.
