U earned em on this hunt. That little goose is pretty neat. We don’t get many cacklers in Utah. Our season closes this Saturday, so I hope to get out on em one last time.

Sorry Matt for the last mallard, I Always value a good dog retrieving but they have to be extremely though for your particular conditions of this day, a Chesapeake bay would be AT the task o.k.!!!! You are so brave and amazed Me all the time AT the amount of work you put scouting perfect spot, breaking the ICE, doing your hide, discreet spread of decoys but with the right ingrédients.... Congratulations on the good markmanship with #9 TSS18 on the goose and mallards! Dont catch a cold! You are making my happy New Year !

I feel your pain man. Dropped my first duck of the year and noticed it moving through the grass toward the pond as I worked over to it, then jumped two off the pond while I was looking for it. Pretty sure it was one of the two that flew away but I still spent the last 45 minutes of shooting light making sure it didn’t just run into some brush and pass.

What is fun, Matt, is when you least expect it. A goose without any goose decoys. I had that happen in my marsh this year. Love your hunts.

Matt how is the duck season in your area? We’ve seen a lot less mallards than normal in West Tennessee. Awesome video as always!

I've definitely seen a lot less birds this year as well. Been noticing less and less mallards each year it seems like. Thanks!

How has your Ethos Super Sport finish/bluing held up over the years to waterfowl hunting environments?
@HighPrairieSportsmen9 күн бұрын
Pretty well. I oil it after it gets wet in any way
@drakeallen85867 күн бұрын
what would you say your farthest kill shot you’ve made with the 28. and what’s your average shots with your 28 looking into buying one.
@HighPrairieSportsmen6 күн бұрын
Probably 40 yds. Generally trying to get them 30 yds and in.
@drakeallen85866 күн бұрын
@ do you believe it can be lethal at farther ranges. and what kind of shells do you shoot
@HighPrairieSportsmen2 күн бұрын
Can it? Sure. I don't recommend it though. If you're going to use a 28, it should be for close decoying shots. I use TSS in mine. Have used bismuth in the past. Would not ever recommend using steel.

@ even with your 12 ga?
@HighPrairieSportsmen5 күн бұрын
@BlakeBurrisoutdoors I use a Trulock CYL in my 12 ga. I'm only using TSS ammo. For steel or bismuth, you need tighter constriction.

A duck hit isn't a duck in the bag. If you can't find it, it didn't count. Good on you for searching though.

If I know I knocked it down, I still count it in my bag
