Dan we do have soy sauce too, you just ask for nước tương (soy sauce), we do eat soy sauce but not in the noodles soup

Ice tea is a Southern and Central thing. Northern VN doesn't have a tradition of providing complimentary ice tea.

Looks like the construction site that you were walking through will become a super fancy place. I wonder if it’s another Vin city? Btw, the veggies in your soup are chayotes, su su in Vietnamese. If you want to get soy sauce, most rice places should have, ask for nước tương.

@@dananna8614Yes, it’s probably opo squash (trái bầu) now that you said they cooked with shrimp. Chayotes are normally cooked with pork bones in soup, along with potatoes and carrots.

All apartments are built to look like modern city or European style BUT IS WRONG MENTALITY. What ashame . The tourists would appreciate if it is simpler of country side things without high buildings. Similar to Hoi An.

Ở các bữa cơm bình dân cô chú có thể ăn cùng nước tương đều được ạ, trừ món cơm tấm thì phải ăn với nước mắm thì mới đúng luật.😊 Có một lần ngoại lệ, cháu mua cơm tấm phần mang về nhà, người bán cơm tấm quên bỏ nước mắm và sau đó cháu đã lấy nước tương có sẵn ở nhà để thay thế, mà ăn cơm tấm với nước tương ăn trông không ngon bằng cơm tấm với nước mắm 😂😂

Soy sauce is more for dipping on the side (marinating). Cos most viet dish is more umami derived from fish sauce and natural broth from bones and vegetables… soy sauce flav profile is very jarring if you have it in the actual food
