An epic first 24 hours with ‪@VisitQatar‬ in today's video!
We didn't anticipate heading back to the airport so soon after getting home from eight months of full-time travel, but once we parked the car and headed into the Salt Lake International Airport it just felt right! After a quick flight to Seattle we boarded our 14 hour flight to Doha, Qatar! Hamad International Airport is one of the biggest and most beautiful airports we have ever seen. Exhausted after our flight, we hopped in our Uber and headed to the St Regis Doha where we checked into the most luxurious hotel room! The next morning we hit the ground running to maximize our time here in Qatar! On our way out to the western coast we stopped to see one of the favorite local pastimes...camel racing! These camels have small robots on their backs instead of jockeys that their owners communicate through. Quite the sight to see! After continuing west we stopped at the epic piece of modern art by Richard Serra called East-West/West-East, consisting of 4 massive pieces of steel embedded into the desert landscape. It's quite an alien sight to behold. We went off-road out to the Arabian Sea, then headed back into the capitol city Doha to explore the markets. Souq Waqif is the largest, traditional Qatari market smack in the middle of the city. We saw falcons, camels, restaurants, clothing and a big golden thumb! We can't wait for our next couple days here in Qatar!

My longest flights have been from Cincinnati to Amsterdam and the return trips - it’s about 11 hours and seemed to last forever! Qatar looks incredible, and not at all where I thought y’all were going to be! Enjoy and show us EVERYTHING ❤

Oh WOW! I’m so truly grateful that you take us with you on your adventures! I would’ve never known anything about Qatar had it not been for your vlog! It looks amazingly beautiful! The camel races were cracking me up and to own a hawk would be amazing! The art work and their architecture- just WOW! Thank you Dan and Chelle! I can’t wait to see what’s next! 🥰

I flew from San Francisco, CA to Tel Aviv, Israel it was about 15 or 16 hours. I slept a lot. I also watched were we were on the map on the screen in front of me on the seat back. It was not terrible but I was glad when I got to get off the airplane. I’m heading to Greece and Turkey this summer and I think it’s about along. Love to talk!

Great video! Loved seeing all the stops on your first day. I know you may already be planning a food video for Qatar but I’d would have loved to see the plane food, room service and breakfast mentioned in the video as an avid traveler, foodie and who is just curious! Food is culture!

Boy have you expanded my horizons! Many of these places are like cities with sky scrapers, and malls, etc., as well as the desert that I expected. The modern aspect for some reason surprised me. I also have always heard camels are mean and they spit at you. Seems not so??

Qatar has a horrible record of human rights abuses - being gay is punishable by death, for example. And women are 2nd class citizens. Slavery wasn’t abolished until the 1950’s. Do better.
