First Impressions: Charlotte Tilbury Hollywood Flawless Filter

This looks incredibly similar to Wonderglow, which I love. I am the biggest Charlotte fan girl going and I love having glowing skin but am a little bit frustrated by the amount of glow products in the line right now. First Wonderglow, then Youth Glow (which I'm also on the fence about as it looks, again, similar to Wonderglow). What I would love to see from this line is an expansion of eyeshadow shades. The quads are of such amazing quality but I'd love to see more colours, for example mauve/aubergine and navy blue... Anyway, thanks very much for this review, Wayne, as I had been super curious about it! xx

I tend to agree darling. I want more eyeshadows. More blushers. More bronzers. More - well MAKEUP! However this isn't similar to wonder glow as it does offer coverage. I don't think apply OVER foundation though would be great for someone with problematic skin, as you'd be moving the foundation you worked so hard to blend!

Manuela Herrera...I know she only keeps launching a few crumbs of lipstick and a new skin cream all the time. Who wants skincare from that line in such massive amounts. That’s what we have dermatologists for. I don’t know.....we haven’t had any new looks in ages. Womp womp.....lol

Wayne Goss Thank you very much for the reply, lovely Wayne! I suppose it was started as a small line with a few capsule products due to limited investment. However, I would rather see one big launch once or twice a year than a trickle of products throughout the year. I love the concept of the 10 or so different looks that no other line does. Maybe we could have "The Office" look or "The Busy Mum" 😄 but anyway more of these would be fantastic! xxx

Like any company when trying to promote their products they use bright lights and girls (early 20's?) To demonstrate how beautiful the MakeUp is. Well that's not realistic for the consumer. Seriously Wayne you’re friends with Charlotte so I assume you two chat, could you please do a fan a solid and ask her to showcase her products on some deeper skintones. Or send PR to darker influencers. When you KZbin or search up Charlotte Tilbury products in thedeeper skin range, nothing comes up or very pitiful non helpful results. I wanted the bronzing powder and the microsmooth pressed powder a few months back, since I’m obsessed with her videos and she always uses those. it was impossible I’m a 6 - 6.25 in bobbi Brown and that’s not all that dark and it’s still so difficult finding anyone in that range who has tried/reviewed/demoed Charlotte’s products.

The pressed powder comes in 3 shades, light, medium and dark but is meant to work across different skin tones isn't it? I have the medium one and it looks super light (I'm a light medium to medium skin tone and it even looks too light for a light medium) but I find it goes on like a translucent powder. It doesn't add any colour to my face. If you read the reviews on Beautylish I think you'll see that the dark one will most likely work for you hon. ❤

I’m torn on this one, it looks really luminous for sure. But almost too much so, like your skin is oily. I like the golden color a lot!! I also think it’s lacking in coverage, so it really doesn’t conceal well. From my view it does appear to melt quite nicely into your skin, so I can’t tell that you have it on. ✨

Hi Wayne, Thank you for your video. I agree with other people who have posted-Re: Product developers need to focus on products for real-life situations, not just bathroom selfies. My opinion is that if it adds to coverage, without making foundation look cakey, and if this product is very different from a primer, great. If it’s just a primer marketed with a different name to sell unnecessary products, then the answer is no to purchasing it. Do you find it has a unique function in the foundation routine? I just got a sample of this in the mail and had no clue what to do with it. The idea of putting it over my foundation/powder just seemed odd. I just tried it over the tops of my cheeks and next to my nose and holy shit, it filled in my pores. I have fairly large pores to the right and left of my nose and nothing ever seems to truly fill them in/blur them. At first it looked like it was just sitting in the pores as flesh toned dots. But then I smoothed it in the opposite direction and it completely filled them in and blurred them. I'm kind of in shock. This had no noticeable scent either, so yay!

I just tried the samples of this in shades 1 and 2. I can wear both, but if I want a more bright/glow look shade 1 is better for that type of look, but if I want a glow from within with a slightly more tinted color , shade 2 works for that. I wear shade 2 in her Light wonder foundation... In MAC I am NC15/NC20 ... Neutral with a slight warm/yellow tone skin tone. I plan on buying shade 1 in this.

I use it for a little bit of sheen on my cheek bones and to re-create the wonderful T-zone of a teenager on my "mature skin" 😂. It's perfect for this. I tried it under or mixed with my foundation and didn't see much difference. But to add a natural looking sheen it's brilliant.

Hi Wayne! This is neither here nor there since I know just because you don’t like a person doesn’t mean their products aren’t good, but I really wanted to make a comment on Charlotte Tilburry herself as a person. After watching one of her videos a couple if days ago, I was totally taken aback by her topic of conversation. I honestly can’t remember what she was talking about with two clients who she was making up, but she sounded like she was out if her mind. I don’t say this to be mean, but she went on and on in a very incoherent fashion making me truly wonder if she had lost her mind or if she was on drugs. After viewing that video, I was left mentally drained and thinking to myself that I would never watch any videos of hers again nor will I buy any of her products. I also thought, how is it that a woman, who seems this mentally unstable can hav3 a successful and thriving business. I also thought about you and how you are such a “normal” person and so we,l intentioned and how much you have struggled and continue to struggle to bring your vision and products to the world. Not fair! Just had to tell you that.

It looks like a small glow on the cheeks like a luminizer (sp?). Ok. I’d love to see how long this lasts! I am in love with the healthy glow and when you put in on one could immediately tell the difference. In fact, I went out and bought it (as did many others). Will you show us how this looks after 6 hours wear? And also if it breaks you out?

Definitly more skin like. Womder how it looks in person.I think it's made your skin look like the result of the Estee Glow sticks..Or those other 12 products already out there that do similar. Or the cover FX illuminating spray.not ground breaking. Just capitalising on her name and a money making venture.

It just looks like a glow primer. i get the same effect by mixing liquid highlighter with moisturizer.

Everyone I’ve seen with it on, including Charlotte’s models, look glowing. However, I feel it also exaggerated texture and pores on the skin which I’m not loving. Is that a fair comment?

I'm not convinced by this product plus it seems to be aimed at the twentysomethings who live their lives on Instagram. Firstly many of us are a lot older and secondly we aren't all Instagram obsessed. I do love Charlotte Tilbury. I wish she would try her products out on a range of both young and older models.

I’m sure it will be fab once you play with it more and you find a way that this products works best for you. I love dewy skin products and I’m sure I will love it. You can also use it instead of foundation maybe for no makeup makeup look 😂 or lazy days. I thought you will also show ya swatches of lip liners!! 😲 and BDW nice guns 😂😬😜

I love your videos. However, I was wondering if you can maybe recommend books regarding makeup and/ or skincare. Especially skin care interests me a lot right now and I'd be happy if anyone could recommend books that are not only an advert for specific brands/ products, but that really go into detail why certain ingredients help with certain things/ are good for certain skin types. It isn’t just a listing of Paula’s choice products; it is an educational section for a huge number of cosmetic and skincare ingredients. I’ve found it beneficial.
