My 10th grader used their American History program last year and it was top of the line. It was thorough and very enjoyable. We have also been using their Bible studies for 2 years or so. Every year I seem to use more and more of their stuff.

This curriculum so far has been a game changer for me. I realized as I started homeschooling and really understanding what best helped my son and also worked with what kind of mom and teacher I am and what were top priorities in our homeschool that I was looking for a needle in a haystack. I want biblical worldview throughout the subjects. Not just mention God every now and then but really make it a core theme. I also wanted it to not be limited to just bible time and reading. I’m realizing my 6 year old kindergartener has an extra hard time focusing and sitting still. If I put too many games and what not and even if it’s fun, if it takes too long I lose his attention and focus and we’re struggling to hit even the few core subjects we have. So I really needed interesting but short lessons. But I also didn’t want it to be so workbook heavy that it sucked the joy out of learning for him. Then I found this curriculum. I’m not reformed but it is solid biblically. I love that every subject we use from them speaks about God and has the focus on him. The lessons are short and engaging enough my son has asked to do extra pages than what I even planned to do. He loves when his father or I read to him so the history for kindergarten and the read alouds for first grade are just awesome and he loves it. We do prayer, a science devotional, scripture memory practice, math (we use math with confidence) history 2x a week, phonics 1 in kindergarten and the letters and sounds and we also practice by reading decodable books and we’re done in about an hour. We talk about God throughout everything we’re learning and it really warms my heart that through his education I’m also getting to train him up in the way he should go. This curriculum checks all the boxes for us. Highly recommend

OMG thank you sooo much. I've been eyeballing generations for about 2 years now as well. I've been considering the history for my highschooler. but I'm sold on getting ALLLL the history levels (I have 9 kids preschool-10th grade) to do with all of them of course ima find a way to do it it small groups. I am also definitely getting the economics course for my 10th grader. Thanks again for the review!

The economics book looks perfect! Shelving that on my wish list for when we hit highschool in a couple years 😅

We have been using Generations curriculum for two years now. We have used their 6th, 9th, & 10th grade packages. I love that everything is from a Biblical worldview. The history and literature classes are phenomenal. We are not Reformed and, so far, I haven't seen anything that I would disagree with scripturally.

I loved watching your review! I'm one of the math curriculum writers for Generations. I'm so glad you liked the kinder math book! I'm currently working on 3rd grade math. I was a teacher and I researched curriculum before pulling my own kids out of a christian school and I loved these books so much that I started writing for them. I've had many of the books easily reimbursed through PEP as well. The children's literature is also excellent as well as the accompanying question packs. My kids went through Heidi (there are amazing reflection questions in here reflecting upon Bible verses) and Pilgrim's Progress this year. I absolutely love God's Big Story. We used level 4 last year and are in level 5 this year. I'm also using that Proverbs book on Fridays this year. There are accompanying history workbooks which contain the questions you were looking for. I've used Taking Americas for Jesus, Taking Asia for Jesus, and we just started reading Taking Africa for Jesus. These books all have a missionary focus so I incorporate biography read-a-louds with my kids. If you are interested in reading some in-depth material I recommend the blue Worldview high school textbook as well as Epoch. Pastor Kevin's books Upgrade and Family Life are great family resources to help people focus on the things that are important.

I hope I did a good job, I am actually really excited about the math. We haven’t started it yet, but soon!

I was so excited to see you look into this curriculum. I was just thinking I'd love your opinion on their science vs masters book science since you teach science. Any chance we could get a video on that.

Listening to founder, Kevin Swanson speak about his passion for discipling his children through homeschool is what launched me into considering homeschooling! We don’t use them for every subject, but we love their reading God’s Big Story and the history. Looking at Proverbs for next year. I always try to know what I’m going to use from them for the following year by Thanksgiving - Cyber Monday sale is 🔥.

For history : we have the activity books the boys do on their own. Plus we put up a paper timeline across part of our kitchen to add dates people and little clip art pictures to help us remember and review. Every once in a while we do something to go back and review a few stories at a time verbally. Before Christmas I printed off a free “story map” and had the boys write important details and then edit and rewrite about their favorite story so far. I’m having them read their reports out loud to grandparents next time we see them.

I am using Generations History and love it. You can get the teacher's guide which has the worksheets and questions along with maps to help tie in the geography. I'm almost finished level 2 and I have already purchased level 3.

Can't wait to see your entire review... We're hesitant w/ this one due to the creator being "reformed" / and or Calvinist ......a philosophy that we do not subscribe to..... so mos def hesitant but curious at the same time... TYSMFS

In 1st history today, I had to reword some things because it talked about God choosing who He'll save. We believe all can be saved if they believe-not God picking certain people.

We are not Reformed either and have been using Generations for 3 years. It is absolutely our favorite, especially for history and science . I love the biblical worldview and the Scripture throughout. I have not really come across anything that we actually disagree with, I have reworded a few things, but overall it is really a great curriculum.

We’re using their kindergarten and then their first grade curriculum bundle. I was hesitant also because I wouldn’t call us reformed. I’ll say scripture wise I can’t say I fully disagree with the reformed/calvinist theology stance but it’s just not something I personally think. However! If you want biblically sound, Christian curriculum that talks about God all throughout it, this is it. I love the stories and how much it talks about the stories of the Bible and even their scripture catechism for k-2 is awesome. There’s no interpretation involved or anything it’s just here’s a question like “who made you?” And it answers the question with scripture and after a while your child can repeat it back to you! My very active 6 year old asks to do extra lessons in the phonics and letters and sounds books and he loves the my first history. Which again in each lesson talks about God.

I'm using their 9th grade economics course this year with my 2 high schoolers. It is SO biblical. There is scripture on EVERY page. If you want a very biblically grounded curriculum, Generations is it.

I’m using generations for the second year now. I love it! I think their biggest sale is on Black Friday and cyber Monday. I believe it was cyber Monday they had things 50% off! I bought items for next year I knew that I was definitely going to use in our homeschool. Saved myself $150! No joke! I really love their stuff!

Generations has frequent sales, not like some of these other companies who only offer discounts once a year. If you sign up on their email list you will get notified of the sales. It is our favorite curriculum and it is just an extra bonus that it is affordable as well.
