As I understand it, the Arahi is the stability version of the Clifton. So, I wonder if a newer version of the Arahi is coming out to follow the Clifton 9.

I'm a bit reluctant... I've loved the Clifton for years. And the 7 was in my opinion the absolute top of Cliftons ever. The 8 was such a disappointment. The tounge and forefoot had more plush and had become more narrow than on the 7 and the 8 wide wasn't really wide anymore. The 7 had some speed in it, a lust to run faster. That completely dissapeared in the 8 that just was "blah..." and not really good for speed/tempo training/race. I usually wear out two pairs of Cliftons pr. year, and the 8 has one good thing, that it is more durable than any previous Clifton.

I just got these but noticed some weird arch pain in my right foot. Looking into it this seems like a classic issue with these shoes . I don’t get it since it’s just the right shoe . Everthing else is fresh but I might have to return, I heard the wide shoes only widen the toe box and not the entire shoe so idk . So frustrated

Since the Clifton kinda lost its way a number of versions ago, I think the Hoka shoe that is closest to the OG Clifton is the Rincon. How would you compare/contrast the Rincon 3 & the Clifton 9?

Clifton 9 is more shoe. More substantial upper and more/updated cushioning under your foot

Any recommendations on a hoka shoe with a more flexible/wider midsole my issues with the Clifton 8 was the banding on the side dug into my skin to much even though I’ve always worn a “normal” shoe width the 8’s seem to have been narrower

I can’t really think of a Hoka shoe that’s particularly wide, they’re all pretty narrow. But perhaps the Mach 5 will have a bit more room for you. The upper is less stiff as well. If you’re looking for a max cushioned shoe and aren’t opposed to a different brand, I would suggest the new balance fresh foam more v4. Wider, with plenty of cushion

I used to be a huge fan of Hoka Clifton line for so many years, but I have been gradually not quite attracted to Hoka shoes, 'cause there's been a lot of other shoe companies competing with one another in terms of super plush maximalist shoes. Thank you so much for sharing your opinions on this shoe. Emily! Oh, BTW, did you know that somebody posted a weird offer of free running gear using your logo below my comment on one of your review videos?
