The seller said that it's not a problem for him if you had alcohol in public, but it might be a problem for the police. That's an experience. P.S. Don't have alcohol out in public places.

Drinking alcohol and smoking in public is illegal. You can be prosecuted. In Sri Lanka you advertising Alcohol and smoke is prohibited. Only tourists do that.
