I would like to correct the gentel men why the place is called Mexico Square is in Addis Ababa, named after the country of Mexico. After the Second Italo-Ethiopian War, Mexico was one of only five countries that refused to recognize Italy's annexation of Ethiopia. Mexican support for an independent Ethiopia was a key event in Ethiopia-Mexico relations.

Oh what a sad first impression! Well it’s bad these people don’t have standards to things and everyone takes advantage of anyone they can come across, not sure how bad the situation is in the country for them to survive. So the cab driver(s) don’t care to make friends who can recommend them for future businesses or a visitor being an ongoing client kinda thing? They only look to eat a meal for the day and that’s about it? So myopic yet saddening. Good you stood your ground. I think this happens in many places around the world, to travel is to see, it is to experience things first hand. Keep up educating us about your travel drills, it’s priceless knowledge! the driver kept telling you that you to go to a bank and change the pound. Then you can pay to him because i think he knows about only dollars not pounds. if someone tells you to go to a bank, that means he is telling you the right thing.🤣🤣

Sorry you had to go through that with the driver... next time use the taxis with the meter on them or get some Apps like 'Ride' and watch them turning it on and off.

Oh @Tyme London, just to correct your Indian friend about something,please tell him what the taxi guy did to you has nothing to do with or it being typical African behavior/culture whichever way he wants to make it seem,he’s TOTALLY WRONG!.Scamming or a person taking advantage of another has nothing to do with race,anyone can do it depending on their circumstances or how easily they find it to be done to someone,simple. He needs to apologize or correct it, the video is globally viewed. Keep up the good content coming though!

Why you go to ethiopia now a days...you have to be informed about the Situation. . First of All you have to convert your Money in the airport...you dont pay with foreign Money in ethiopia...Maximum 300 birr

Bro on this oneI will blame you as well, The Taxi driver is an asshole that's for sure. But you as a traveller, you have internet and you know where you are going to. From Airport to your hotel, you should be doing your homework in knowing the price. For instance asking your audience to the country where you are traveling to. Because these taxi drivers or sellers they will always trying to scam you. And when you were at the Airport ask different taxi and compare the price, or before getting out the airport ask security, they know. Next time, be more wiser. Peace be up on you.

@@tymelondon Mexico was one of the only 5 countries to stand with Ethiopia in the league of nations during the 2nd Italio-Ethiopian wars. For this Ethiopia names one of the streets in Addis Mexico. This is to help us remember that Mexico was with us in the darkest moments of our country, when the whole world betrayed us and they shall have our eternal gratitude.
