@@PoJoTheBackPacker😁😁😁😁😁 you should be more prepared before you go anywhere. Act like you know where you are going. Oh lawd you did all the wrong things. Never sit in the front of a transportation in Jamaica. You're lucky because it's a tourist area they don't kidnapped you. You can't be so foreign in Jamaica. Down town Kingston is a whole vibe that you have to not stick out so much. It's scary watching you. Never take taxis in Jamaica by your self. As a woman I move around Jamaica freely without problems but you have to know how to just be Jamaican.
@PoJoTheBackPacker8 ай бұрын
@@eileenwatt8283 if you’re worried about my safety in this video i suggest you don’t watch my other ones. I respect people but i don’t let everyone dictate where i can and can’t go. You know it’s funny only from JAMAICANS am i being told “you’re going to get kidnapped, robbed, shot, stabbed…” but yet all I’ve encounter (morning day and night) is good hospitable people.. and I’ve already been to the areas i was ohhhh son wanted about not to go to. But then again maybe that’s a blessing about being a foreigner I’m able to go into these places with no problem where as you.. i don’t think you can.. it’s tragic but there’s so many sides to Jamaica and Kingston you local Jamaicans will never experience… so you can stay for the journey and watch me explore your beautiful country.. or you don’t have to watch anymore. Maybe we should stop painting Jamaica in a bad light and try to bring a little positivity to the island. I’ve never had so many people that DONT live in their own country trying to tell me where and what to do in the country they left from. lol it’s blasphemy. I also try to be as honest as i can be, that means even if i don’t like the food or the area I’m in but i will never judge in a bad way. 😂 i have an interesting video later in the series about my experience with Jamaican customer service… GENERALLY I’ve had excellent service to be 100% honest with you. But three times i went to a store i did not have good service. I was told even local Jamaicans deal with not the best customer service. Me coming from America i do not feel entitled, and i don’t expect everyone to be nice. But a small amount of decency would be okay 😂 some of these places made me feel like i was in the wrong for ordering a simple meal. @@kuyahkudey3217 first of all brooklyn is much safer, 2 jamaicans never leave their apartment doors open, theres a big gate with high level security and a security guard guarding the apartments at all times, every house has a gate and iron grills and an alarm system, even house complexes have massive gates and high level security, thats how much more dangerous kingston is than brooklyn nyc, you guys dont understand kingston is like the ghetto in america but so much worse, you CANNOT go outside after 6 pm or you're putting yourself in danger. Kingston alone is the reason why Jamaica was ranked 10th globally in terms of highest crime rate. You guys need to spend a good 10-20 years in Jamaica to actually see whats going on, Kingston may look nice but it is definitely not safe, people commit murder in broad daylight literally, its not uncommon to see a dead body while on the road and youre more likely to get robbed in the richer areas and murdered in the porrer areas but both happen anywhere in kingston and if youre white youre an automatic target youre in even more danger than the average citizen

I was born and grew up in MoBay then Kingston. Just for the viewers the beach is Doctors Cave...with an A LOL

I live half time in Jamaica & love the island. It is different living vs traveling thru. I always stay overnight coming & going in MoBay. I live in St Ann Paris now up in the hills above Ocho Rios. I previously lived in St. Elizabeth Treasure Beach. MoBay & Kingston are cities. The real beauty is really off the beaten path in the country. Oh it's Doctor Cave not Cove but Cove is a better name. Maybe there once limestone caves there.... & did real good walking all around to main parts of MoBay....

You need to check out Port Antonio, Treasure Beach, and of course, Negril. As for whether local people can use the beaches, the answer is increasingly No. Big hotels are being built everywhere and the fishermen are losing their beach access.

I am Jamaican living in the US and when I go back and they see me and the prices triple, they don’t care once you look like a foreigner and it’s crazy. I hate that about my country but not for everything though. Uber in the states is not cheap so $20 is not bad my guys be realistic now.
@PoJoTheBackPacker7 ай бұрын
Yea it sometimes kills my experience but most of the time since being here in Jamaica I’ve paid local prices to be honest.
@PoJoTheBackPacker7 ай бұрын
Yea well $20 was kind of bad considering i could have actually walked from the airport to my room if i had one bag and if i REALLY wanted to do that. Also i paid for a route taxi back and it was $200 Jamaican so in my opinion $20 was bad especially because it was literally a 6 minute drive

They privatize the beaches, so locals aren't allowed on those beach, which is a problem, which many jamaicans are opposed of. So the foreigners buy out those beaches, but the local beaches are different

I was aware and i wanted to avoid the paid beach but at the same time i want to show what Ocho Rios offers. But i did go to harmony park that had a beautiful free beach as well. But you are right!

@Po'jo the backpacker, Hey Bro. Like how you are respectfully covering Jamaica. Have you considered renting a car in Jamaica. It's not as bad as it seems. Treasure beach (St Elizabeth) is a rarely visited spot in the Island by KZbinrs. It's one of the coolest part of the island in my opinion. While you are there you can try out Lovers Leap, Appleton Rum Estate, Black River, Pelican bar, rated one of the coolest bars in the world. you have to take a boat to get there and YS falls. I would also suggest you take the Kuutsford Express when traveling. not Expensive and a lot more comfortable. Be prepared for Kingston, It's very much a city. The areas closer to the hills is called uptown, that's where middle class and wealthy Jamaicans stay, Downtown is more local shopping and is fun but be careful when navigating. It's a hit and miss with filming. People don't really care much for it. Stay out of politics. We, Jamaicans are very kind but also very patriotic. Portland is considered by many to be the most beautiful part of Jamaica. Also check out Negril.

How tf a guy from Paris is going to speak on Jamaica? He has absolutely no idea what he's talking about. Kingston is generally safe. SOME places in Kingston are not. Montego Bay (the tourist areas and the rich areas) are safe. SOME areas in Montego Bay are a no go! THIS IS LIKE EVERY OTHER COUNTRY!!1

$20 USD to go church street 😐 (I know mobay) I guess because it’s private vehicle. Local taxis (red plate) it would cost $200 jmd or give the driver $1000 jmd they would drop you off there.

Was that Caribbean green seasoning maybe? Looked more like a chili heavy sauce. But when I lived in Caribbean they had a green herb type sauce. And an orange spicier version we just called hot sauce (wasn’t very hot 😅😂)
