Tokyo first timer list: Asakusa: Senso ji Buddhist temple and its surrounding shopping arcades (food & touristy souvenirs) - warning: crowd density Shibuya: Noisy stuff and famous scramble crossing - a lot of shops (scenes & merchandise souvenirs) - warning: crowd density Shinjuku: The previous trendy neighbourhood - a lot of alleyways with great Japanese bars (scenes & food) - scammy joint warning Tsukiji: whatever is left in it: nice classy merchant-oriented neighbourhood of Japan - traditional market that sells affordable finger foods (food & souvenirs) warning: crowd density Shimbashi: a streets full of Japanese eatery joints - cheap and full of drunken office workers at night (scenes & food) - warning: loud people Expensive end: Ginza: Classy Tokyo's shopping street and hidden restaurants (brand names & food) - warning: pricey stuff Harajuku/Omote-Sando: Yoyogi Park & Meiji Jingu shrine. Trendy fashionable places and hipster cafes (fashion & coffee) Day trip recommendation from Tokyo: Kamakura - Eno-shima - great small town with giant Buddha statue, nice place to cycle around - a lot of noodle restaurants Nikko - shrine of Tokugawa clan, the last ruling Shogun family of Japan, beautiful scenery - there is waterall too Maybe? Tokyo Skytree - one of the tallest structure in the world, tallest in Japan Tokyo tower - the famous symbol of Tokyo before the Skytree, and the surrounding parks - classic neighbourhood dating back from their 1980s hey day Odaiba - the tourist trap of Tokyo Tokyo Disneyland - LOL Tokyo Disney Sea - actually pretty good if you are a fan of theme parks Budget friendly recommendation: Convenience store food are actually edible in Japan - and they are quite good Franchise restaurants like Yoshinoya, Matsuya, or Sukiya are great - don't hesitate to try McDonald's as well Try kaiten sushi (conveyer belt sushi) restaurants like Sushi Zanmai and Sushiro - they are still much better than sushi back home Daiso contains quite a lot of quirky affordable Japanese knick-knacks that can upgrade life - don't have to go to Donki (where you can easily mistake picking up pricey Rolex or Rimowa in their discount environment) Personal favourite: Japanese parks, Yoyogi, Ueno, Shinjuku parks are great. Personal avoid: Akihabara - weeb focused and overpriced, only go there if you are a weeb. There is also lack of good food options here

@meruk8682
@meruk8682 7 ай бұрын
@@SeekMore.don't sweat, most places don't require proper dress attires. Although it's more appropriate to wear pants and sleeves in religious environments, if the weather is hot, people will understand. There are so many tourists these days anyway - as long as you act respectful and refrain from being loud, you will be welcomed. In all honesty, there are loads of natives wearing shirts and shorts in these areas, so don't be too worried. If you do go inside temples and shrines, do bring a fresh pair of socks. When going inside the building people are required to remove their shoes so it'll be appreciated if you wore socks on the wooden floorings instead of bare feet. Hope you enjoy our country, and my city Tokyo 😊
