Tim, thank you for sharing your heart attack story years ago now. I remember you discussing the CTA test for some reason. This past November I had a 75% blockage in my LAD and had a heart attack during the stent procedure and other complications. Your story gave me hope that I'd run again. Six mos. later and I'm finally off most meds. and bouncing back. You are an amazing story. Much love to you and your beautiful family.

Wow! You didn't have a heart attack prior to the stent, but the stent procedure gave you one? Are you still on Blood Thinners and a statin?
@AngelaGrace2 Жыл бұрын
@@AustinBigWig Yes, it happened during the angioplasty (balloon) part of the procedure. I'm still on Plavix and will be on aspirin and a statin the rest of my life. Doc said I happen to make sticky blood. I'd like to emphasize that every heart attack patient is unique. Losing my breath and chest pain while running was my indicator and it progressed each time I tried to run. Then those symptoms occurred while at rest. Go to the ER when in doubt!

Thanks for your story. I am not a professional athlete but 3 months ago was diagnosed with severe blockage after just wanting some tests for family history. No symptoms. Like you had a widowmaker and blocked bad enough to need bypass. I am recovering well and enjoying cardiac rehab. Like you, I am kind of the youngest in it and they don't have good guidelines for people more fit. Trying to establish my own rehab/training program with my Dr. Also encouraging family and friends to get tested. Stories like yours really help. Thanks.

Amazing video! It's so great that you share your love for swimming, it is such an amazing water sport and it's lovely to see you enjoy it, keep going with these great videos. If it doesn't bother you, I'd like to give you a suggestion, a tip for the next videos: Basically, you could try inserting some comic and funny stuff... to give everyone a pinch of humor that, in the world of swimming, diving and all water activities, can never be missing. Now, I don't think much of it, but the first thing I could think of in your sport might be peeing in the water. Once, my uncle, who is a scuba diver, peed in his wetsuit during a long diving session and that moment was absolutely funny, he even wrote "I’m peeing" on a waterproof notebook during the session. He has always been telling me that there are 2 types of divers and swimmers: those who pee in the water and those who lie. I know it may sound strange as a request but, in my opinion, these are moments of happiness and carefree that always make everyone smile. I hope you like the idea and I hope you have a wonderful day!

Congratulations!🎉 Wondering what your cardiologist thinks about the erythritol in UCAN drink mixes. Recent study of over 4000 people by the Cleveland Clinic ( Dr. Stanley Hazen) showed “ enhanced clot formation “ and an association with” major adverse cardiovascular events “ with increased blood levels of erythritol. Might be worth running it by your docs. Great admiration for you and Rinny.

Praises for Tim The Great !!! but we at The Community have the feeling that you should call it a day for competing even in short tri races after an heart attack,just swim,bike and run for your own fitness and to live to see your children grow...your body is telling that to you !!!! listen to it !!! if u take 2 weeks for recovering from a short course tri than we would not advise u to do longer tri race or do races at all...instead just keep fighting the future !!!!

How's that ?? a young & healthy athlete gets a heart attack ! remember Laurent Vidal, French athlete who died while sleeping. no mystery : you take junk dope, at the end of the day, you must pay the bill. the archives speak : Tom Simpson, Flo Jo, Pantani, Greg Welch forced to retire after heart issues & many others. your choice !
