There are common first job mistakes that could be avoided.
Everyone makes mistakes at work and what matters the most is reflect on them, think on how to recover from it and turn it into a massive opportunity for your career
I started my first job right after dropping out of my PhD. I had no qualifications to be in the job, nor any understanding of what it entails to work in a corporate setup.
Reflecting upon these mistakes made me learn far faster than any other experience could have.
Because I had just dropped out of my PhD, I considered this job to be a blessing. So I never allowed gratitude to leave me. I was perpetually grateful for the opportunity.
Here are my mistakes that will help you ask the right questions in life and be grateful for the nurturing we get in our first jobs.
If you have any questions, do ask them in the comments section below.

Recently completed an internship. And after watching this video, I can say that there was no difference between today's me and Warikoo then. I made all the mistakes he mentioned in the video, the biggest among all was "doing job fast, not right'. Fortunately, I have got an offer from one of the industry leader in my country. Tomorrow will be my first day as an HR officer. After completing internship, I reflected on my journey and figured out what went wrong and what I did well during my tenure. Thank you warikoo and I promise, I will work on all these and become better me.

I disagree with the 8th point. Nowdays every company wants to just get the employees in the cheapest possible rates, I myself has encontered many companies who are offering 15k a month, Like really, do companies really expect someone to work for 15k, one cant even afford basic living expenses in this salary. So, my suggestion, make a strong decision about your salary set a lower benchmark and dont break that. for example, I set a benchmark for myself after graduation of 30k and I decided that I wont go below that, I had many offers of 25k but i rejected them all and after that got a 33k offer. it worked for me. dont underestimate yourself. research the market standard, know your potential and just go for it.

9. Be understanding about the company's decision This is exactly what is wrong with us. We never question any decisions that are forced upon us. Hum bas yahi maan ke chalte hai k agar kiya hai toh kuch soch samjh ke hi kiya hoga. For a decision that we can see is wrong, why should we not question it.

I stopped the video after two minutes.... Anyhow let me suggest you doing mistakes is very common and it sector always want things to be done fast and won't give you the right time to get your basics rgt. It's always the employee who is wrong, warikoo kind of gyaan even my manager gives, there nothing called a mistake, if employee does a mistake then mostly it's due to many factors. This warikoo is in the top of hierarchy rgt now so these people speak something but at the end they all need it fast no matter whatever it takes.

You know just after 1 & half yr exp.I changed my company & landed in mumbai to join one of the biggest mnc bank .Welcomed like princess. But when I hit the floor the scenario was all opposite. My seniors were troubling me like anything .shouting cursing like I hav never faced in my own home or my last company. Not sharing anything or not cooperating at all.One of the senior was like saying from the first day "Trade is nt that easy".But the thing is that he does not wanted me to go ahead otherwise I ll go ahead of him /her or how he /she ll b important to this team only showing smones mistake. They tried every attempt to put me down in front of mgt.But on other side mgt. was too gud wid with me.Head of the trade usd to come & ask how evrything is going on.But now I regret why I didn't highlighted this to mgt.Just after one yr .my company sponsored my international certification in trade after I cleared 2 internal test.Till now nobdy has got sponshorship for such cert.Got second highest score on floor😁.Ppl wr happy only wid face.omg it was hell. I was coming home from office at 2:30 am.And these guys wr like they loved to keep me in office late nyt.But I don't understand how these ppl are ?? No ethics only politics. You know one of the manager in my current co. Has said first day in wfh meeting that "u sud not cross ur limits. Anything let me know, if u r skipping me & informing my boss it wil b very difficult for u guys I ll destroy ur career😂😂😂😂😂😂.How smone can say like that it's like we are in jungle. But its sound funny with these kind of thing as it cleary indicates their insecurity. Some managers promote ppl based on their personal relationship with the employee. For ex- in my current co. My manager specially called me to handle pilot project but at the end of the yr. IJP arrived only for one girl in whole company branch.ppl went nuts aftr this they wr calling me saying u sud talk thud us wrong. And all he did becoz of his personal relationship with her. But mgt must b aware y only single promotion.sm ppl on floor suggesting be close to him .I said there are lot of singles are around me to have such relationship. Is it ethical. If smbdy can give promotion based on my personal relation with them.Y I have got such expensive education. If I hav to go ahead in my life like this.better I sud die.I agree with u that u sud raise ur voice. But only at the cost of losing job or becom a victim. But I loved ur video.Tgat was my silent fight.Wondering if I wud hav recvd such thing in 2015.I wud hav fighted damn hard. But now I m changed I don't resist anymore for wrong things. Now I left my current co. Too😂😂😂😂& the same person has no words to tell me.was making me fool again with his crocodile tears.I said tata bye bye

Really appreciate for helping people to learn through your experiences. I believe many mistakes you could avoid if you start thinking more about the others and less about self. Not only in your job/profession but every areas of your life. Blessings Sir!

Hmmm agreed with most points... However...."shipping" the job on time is as important as doing it right. Otherwise it's easy to get into the perfectionist trap. While one is paid to do the job right, one is also expected to do it in a certain time.....what is implicit (or should be with experience) is the quality expectations given the time

Most common mistake is ASSUMING. There's a difference between what you think and what is the right thing.
