The Wife got me the MPK mini plus and AIR 192-4 interface for Christmas, so that is my kitchen cookup gear for this year with MPC beats and my headphones. Now I can just throw down a lil beat idea without loading up the entire studio. Liking the Mini plus so far, pad velocity is nice. Edit, the sequencing and arranging on the MPC live 2 looks SO EASY.

Hey just wanted to know do you tune your bass and 808 or do you just go with it. And when it comes to your 808 and bass in your drum kit what key are they in? Sorry the question my be stupid

Most of my basses/ 808s are set to C, so you don’t have to tune much. But if I have to tune them I change root key in sample editor. But… I’ll make a video for it

I have the exact same setup: hooking the MPK Miniplus to the Live 2 with a USB cable is kindergarten. However, using a dedicated MIDI cable: not so much. Loving this Cook Up format but it would really profit from a more high-resolution top-down camera because atm, it's kind of hard to see what you're doing on the screen. I couldn't find the mp3 link btw but I assume this will be fixed by the next time someone reads this.

I used Sony a7iii for top down, with Sony g master 18-105 lens. Still working on settings but when doing top down shots with LCD screens it’s very hard because of lighting issues. I’ve tried everything from changing f stops to buying very expensive lenses and lighting setups. But most people to multiple zoom ins & outs but I don’t like to mess up my workflow when doing videos since I like to make my beats in one take. But if you have suggestions… please let me know.

If you’re not getting a MacBook Pro. Razor would be a good way to go. You should check them out. Make sure you buy into the future. What I mean by that is buy the specs/features you think you’ll need in the next 5 years not what you think you need now. If that makes sense. You don’t wanna keep upgrading computers. Gets expensive
