@@perry0691 I think there are no overtaking possibilities except for the last corner and the start-finish straight. Qualifying and a good start will be key here.

@@CrusardModding I see a lot overtaking possibilities on this track, they just need to have balls. This circuit is narrow as it should be, just look at fuji and you will see what run off areas do to legendary tracks.

It's been there since 1999, only ever been used two weekends for racing, motorcyles, and unlicensed amateurs and that won't change.

I hope the chicane, as to turn no 5, will not be used. It will stop the flow from turn 4 to turn 9, even turn 10.

this is a temporary chicane that is used as a test for the first trackday. afterwards it will no longer be used if all goes well

@@perry0691 It's actually always been used for trackdays with, ahem, "questionably" skilled drivers involved, as well as bikes. Races have always avoided it, except for bikes and two weekends for cars, one in 1999 when they ran all layouts over the course of the season, and one in I think 2015 or so when they wanted to spice up the season again. Nobody likes the chicane and nobody uses it if they don't have to.

Wie bij droog weer als eerste ongehavend door de eerste bocht komt gaat naar mijn idee de race winnen, en bij nat weer wordt het een ramp om gestrande auto's binnen een redelijke tijd weg te halen. Ik vrees dat de eerste helft van het seizoen ongelooflijk saai gaat worden met al die circuits waar de auto's nauwelijks in kunnen halen. Iedereen die er financieel belang bij heeft is er heel enthousiast over, maar of de fans die van echt racen houden net zo enthousiast zullen zijn valt nog te bezien. Het is in ieder geval geen circuit geworden waar ik als racesport liefhebber op voorhand al heel erg al erg enthousiast van wordt. Het moet wel een sport blijven, niet dat je anderhalf uur lang naar een veredelde optocht zit te staren.

Dat ligt bij F1 toch nog grotendeels aan de auto's en minder aan de banen waar ze rijden. Zelfs als er inhaal mogelijkheden zijn dan komt het vooral op DRS aan of je hebt gewoon een veel betere motor of auto tegenover je concurrentie. Echt puur inhalen is er niet meer bij in F1.

@@perry0691 Er was 1 tribune en die blijft ook na de f1. Tijdens de f1 staan er tijdelijke tribunes. En waar ze die buinen gelaten hebben.... Dat is dan wél weer een beetje saai.

Nou dat ben ik maar deels met je eens. Als je bijvoorbeeld naar Monaco kijkt, en andere races in de eerste helft van het seizoen dan speelt het circuit waar ze rijden qua inhaalacties wel degelijk een rol. Maar we zullen wel zien, ik weet wel dat ik Monaco ook al niet meer kijk want ik vind dat niets met racesport te maken hebben.

Laptime doet er niet toe wel wat er tijdens die ronden gebeurd. De dynamiek op een korter rondje is over het algemeen groter. Met 20 auto's op een lange baan is niets aan.

The public also wants something along the track. With this type of circuit, the public along the circuit is much more entertained. The cars are passing by much more often than on those boring long tracks such as Monza. The short pit lane also gives you a better chance that the teams can strategically go for 3 pit stops instead of 1 or 2 pit stops.

tijdens de bouw en met drone opname zag het beetje klein uit. Ik heb andere video van Tom gezien met racewagen leek me te korte rechte lijn maar meer bochtig. Maar deze video toont integendeel aan dat het veel beter is. Het toont ook aan dat er eigenlijk meer inhaal plaatsen zijn dan feitelijk er uitziet. Deze opname is veel duidelijker dan vogelvlucht met drones. Ik denk dat deze circuit top 3 favoriet gaat worden bij de meeste coureurs. Misschien ook beste race 2020. Eingelijk vind ik dat deze ook mooier met hoogtes en laagstes en die bochten zullen ICOON worden voor F1.

The new Zandvoort circuit may have be refashioned for the 2021 or 2022 seasons to evolve into the league of Spa. Two extended long runs with unequivocal overtake widening, and curve extensions for the same.

This is gonna be impossible to overtake on... I thought that would widen it more!! And the last corner is just way to short with it's banking. No this is not the F1 circuit I had imagined it would be. Shame, especially as a Dutchy :/

Not compared to Monaco. lol And Zandvoort is only a bit shorter than a short circuit like Brasil. It is also not a boring track... But we will see. :-)

@@PieterPatrick It's literally the longest track the Dutch Grand Prix has ever been held at. Still the second shortest on the calendar but that is mostly because new circuits have inflated the average length since about when Tilke started designing them. Honestly, can you believe this track is longer than Kyalami, Indianapolis, Anderstorp, Donington, Mosport, Dijon-Prenois, Monjuïc, Adelaide, Brands Hatch and Long Beach, all undoubtedly iconic circuits F1 no longer races at? Even despite being shortened a bit it's still within 128 meters from 5 other circuits still on the calendar.
