First lathe feed cutting

tonight I mount my quick change tool post , once its tightened down I set up a knife tool to see if the home made power feed would work .
to my surprise the power feed worked better than I expected , really happy with how it turned out , some test cuts on a piece of steel confirmed it , the home made power feed was made up with steel to hold the car window wiper motor on with a rod connected to the hand feed shaft to drive the feed powered with a PWM controller.

Hi. Don't drill and pin your toolpost in one position. Leave it so you can pivot it to gain additional angles. Buy yourself a ring spanner to lock it in position after you've rotated it. It's more versatile this way. Cheers Tony

thanks thats a great point , I've got a ring spanner ,I just used an adjustable for convenience 🙂
