Maneskin is a Danish word that means moonlight and was chosen by Victoria the bass player (her mother was Danish) when they needed a band name to enroll in a local contest in 2016...it was supposed to be temporary but they won that contest and kept the name thinking it was a lucky name... it's pronounced "mo-nae-skin" with phonetic accent on the o... Zitti e buoni in this case is "shut up and behave" in a way of warning... The song is about aiming to make it in the climb towards an unspecified goal although struggling because being different (not conforming to what is acceptable by social norms) and feeling uncomfortable among judgemental people...😊

They are amazing in concert. Saw them in Dallas in October, they give 100% the whole concert. First time I've ever seen the Lead Singer, the guitarist and the bassist all crowd surf whilst still playing/singing the song. And they are so young! I can't wait to see how they evolve and grow in their talent. You should check out Gossip (with Tom Morello from Rage Against the Machine) and Honey (Are You Coming).

Mick Jagger called them out as the rock band to watch for this generation. Victoria, the bassist, is the punk rocker. I love that someone like Ten can go the independent route to get where he is, and Maneskin went talent show worth X Factor then Eurovision. Their problem is that cliché, as many musicians won't even listen to them because of their affiliation with the talent competitions. I didn't know you understand italian! That is a unique selling point in the world of Maneskin reactions. Kool Kids is their punkoest song. There are some excellent live videos out there, but the studio non video version is interesting because Damiano, who is T total most of the time, got completely drunk for that song.

The unique sound came from, starting early as a band (still in school), and busking all the time. 2017 they recorded their version of Beggin and after Eurovision on their first US appearance they start with it, opening the door to their own music.

Damiano has evolved from mouth watering, long haired model quality hottie to mouth watering, short haired rugged, am I still a hottie? (yes!) type! Victoria is so tantalizing with her bass playing, Thomas has developed into a crazy good/different guitar player and Ethan has really developed with his drums! Their X Factor performances are so raw and eye catching! They would be great to see your reaction to any of them! The show is all in Italian so you have a leg up understanding what the judges are saying. Their live performances are so amazing! They are really great Italian lyricists/music writers, but their English songs are so catchy and fun! Check out Coraline, preferably live, to react to! This song, Zitti e buoni, is from their sort of ”angry album” (Teatro d’Ira). They, for instance, address people who didn’t believe in them, and who criticised them for being different. The album with Valentine on it is more mixed rock and pop rock, written after their big international breakthrough (so they were not the underdogs anymore, and the themes of the songs have shifted).

Vic and Thomas are Middle School pals. They founded a group on Vic's input. This song is from their second album Teatro d'Ira" (early 2021). Damiano has a wonderfully clear enunciation in Italian. Your translation of the song title is absolutely correct, "Shut up and behave". That's what teachers used to tell him/his classmates when Damiano was at school. And then he keeps saying "We're bonkers, but we're different from them", where them is the people they dislike and who dislike them.

Ok, i am here for all the Måneskin you can watch, and yeah go 9ers from and Californian in Italy! They have too many songs to recommend from their deep Italian ballads to their party fun English songs, the covers of Elvis and Dolly, to the newer stuff like Valentine or Trastevere they are a once in a generation band like Queen or The Doors.

ngl i am not a fan of their new songs, they have (in my opinion) became very americanised and a lot more “pushing the boundaries” instead of just being authentically themselves it feels almost as if they’re selling out to appeal to a bigger american audience rather than staying authentic for their european audience. they had a lot more originality and more of a genuine rock look/ feel before. still very talented but not a fan of their newer more “pop rock” sound! in my opinion you should react to more of their 3rd album as to me its their best!
