The First Lite Kiln is a 250-weight merino wool hunting base layer. This mid weight base layer is 95% merino wool which is made of fine fibers that are soft and not itchy, warm without bulk, fast drying, thermally regulating, and odor controlling. This is one of the best hunting base layers I have ever used, it keeps me warm and dry in the early season, mid-season, and late season. If it is really cold outside, I will wear the First Lite Furnace 350 over top of it. This is an in-depth review of this great piece of hunting gear.

The Kiln comes in numerous colors from solids to sophisticated camouflage patterns. It comes in a crew, quarter zip, and even a hoodie. The long Johns are easy to walk in, very comfortable, and provide great mobility. I also tested the First Lite Kiln against Cabela's E.C.W.C.S, the Icebreaker Merino 200, SITKA Gear Merino Core Lightweight 120, Patagonia Capilene, and Under Armour ColdGear. I also discuss the way to get rid of the sheep smell that some merino wool layers come with. #turkeyhunting #deerhunting #duckhunting
