I just watched your video that I came across on KZbin. That brings back a lot of memories. I was driving over the road for 18 years. Retired in 2019 just before covid. Enjoyed every minute of it. I was an owner operator pulling a flatbed I had my daughter dispatch for me and made a great living out there Good luck with your new adventure!

If your trainer aims for 5,000 miles a week, you could be done in 6 weeks. But that is best case scenario.

Im guessing rookie fresh out of school. So heres some tips for you. First get a lunch box oven. Instead of the disposable pans get sturdy reusable pans for it. Don't get a instant pot until you have decided there's room for it. Which theres very little extra room in a truck you're living in. Also a small pan and a camping stove. Trust me theres going to be times that things just don't work and hot food is not a thing to go without. Even if its a sterno can and a pan have something. Coffee is way better when it doesn't cost $5a cup. Get a coffee pot. Theres no such thing as too many pens. Have work gloves and fuel gloves. DO NOT use the fuel gloves to close your doors. If you have to touch anything other than the drivers door handle wear gloves. You will save yourself a huge mess. The area around the drivers seat is the farthest work shoes go. If you go to the sleeper the shoes stay up there. Biggest tip and not judging... Remember where home is and how far you are from it. Your time away from home should always be more than minimum wage per hour you are gone. Total hours not working hours. If you are 2 jobs away from breaking even on pay theres no sense in working 70hrs at the one you have to sleep in.

@@LifeAccording2Logan I wish I could have gotten to talk to you before the lease program but no reason to beat you over what you don't know. You put yourself in a spot where you will have to learn it one way or the other and I hope you have a positive experience with your lease.

Training in class was how many days? Did you get extra time to practice? How long did you have to ride with a trainer prior to going solo?

@@kellysarro2853 training for upgrading was 2 days. Training for PSD was two weeks. Plenty of time for practice. I rode with my trainer for 4 months, but we took hometime and a 2 week vacation at the end. Now there are only 30,000 miles you have to do, so your time will be shorter than mine at 50,000 miles
