FIRST LOOK! 2024 Toyota RAV4 hybrid FULLY loaded review!

I got my 2024 Rav4 XSE (magnetic grey-non tech package) late October. Barely one month, while using the automated car wash at a gas station, their machine scratched the left side close to the tire...still processing with their insurance. Hopefully, they fix it. The car is smooth and sweet. I love it so much and would keep it for life. The gas milage is insaneeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee. I'm highly impressed with the comfort, sound system, backup warning etc. Thanks for this beautiful review.

Awesome. I’ve preordered one for next year. I’ve got the 2022 at the moment. Hopefully I’ll pick it up in February. In NZ we only call it a 2024 if we pick it up in 2024.

The piano black is full of dark blue metal flake, which sure looks awsome in the sun when clean. Matches the hybrid blue around the logos, and interior stitching. Notice the XSE no longer has the AWD emblems on the rear doors. I think all other hybrid trims still do, a bit odd. As they now put the black exhaust tips on this trim, the black emblem overlays should also be standard. Chrome tips match the chrome emblems, and visa versa.

Nice car but no availability unless u r willing to pay for the outranges "MARKET ADJUSTMENT" that all Toyota dealers will add to ur price. This practice is Not consumer friendly and really turns me off to even consider any Toyota in the future.

Agree. Many Toyota customers left for another brand because of it. Especially those who went over to Tesla won't come back anytime soon. I, myself, paid $3K(US dollar) markup back in March for 23 XSE hybrid with tech pks, simply because I always wanted a 4runner like rugged looking Rav4. I wasn't in the market for a new car, but my previous car was totaled. Coming from a 22mpg car I already saved around $2K so far though.

@@matrix-fh9tn Tesla is in a different category imo. They do build a lot of cars, but zero SUV's currently. I waited for my RAV4 hybrid because I could. Not everybody is in this position. Toyota is currently overcharging customers because they can due to demand. Not saying it's right, but dealerships are taking advantage of this fact. Tesla is pumping out cars faster than they can sell them and have an overcapacity if they ran flat out.

Maybe check with Car Help Canada or Automobile Protection Association on pricing I wish I did. When I purchased a RAV4 from Maple Toyota.

No market adjustment if you wait for your personal allocation. Only adjustments on vehicles on the lot. I ordered mine, I had to wait 16 months, but it did show up, and I am in love with my ‘23 RAV4 XSE w/ technology package. Cavalry blue.

I think there are two or three different tech packages. Pano roof was standard in my "US version" 2023 XSE hybrid with tech package. I never open it, so I don't need it, but it's there.

Just bought the 2019 Rav4 XSE with 36k miles. Although it's 4 years old, I only see marginal improvements on new models. My only complaints are the lack of android auto (bought a 90$ adapter to remedy) and some goofy design choices like not illuminating some door buttons, the tinny standard speakers, and the cupholders not firmly holding larger water bottles. Still a great vehicle.

You can buy the aftermarket illuminated buttons for the windows online. Lots of videos of people replacing the front speakers and claim it's a vast improvement. Also, rear hatch lights are great to install. Wife's car so i don't get to add as much as I'd like to.

I could not wait for the RAV4 - I could not get the one I wanted so I went for the Lexus NX 350 F-Sport 2024 and I am happy! I retired just 8 months ago and my 9 year old jeep Grand Cherokee was giving me problems and I needed transportation cause my mother had been sick !

You can get a black plastic wrap for the roof that is reversible, if you did that you would have various options, flat black, semigloss, glossy black, blue speck black. It is possible to get the same look on the limited if that is the deal breaker. I am considering clear plastic wrap to protect the camera ports on the front when I get my Rav-4

In the US, the RAV4 hybrid XSE w/out the tech package is listed at $37k. $46,110 CA is only $34k which seems low especially with a tech package.

The reason the panoramic roof isn't standard in the hybrid is it uses a lot of power for the effects No one ever mentions this

I didn’t notice if you mentioned it, but are there no power folding mirrors? I’d be shocked if they weren’t included on a vehicle priced at nearly $50,000.

It's a Toyota not a Lexus. Sadly most of the RAV4 models don't come with folding mirrors but you can buy the mechanism in the aftermarket world fairly cheap.

@@waynebinky Thank you for your response to my post. I certainly agree with you that a Rav4 Prime is no Lexus. But, respectfully, I don’t believe it can argued that Toyota is charging a Lexus price for it. But then, Toyota shafts customers in fifty different ways when comparing features on models to each other. For instance, the fact that you get four door smart locks on a Rav XSE model but not a considerably more expensive Highlander Platinum. I know they want to sell Lexus cars, but I believe that if they put an option on one Toyota model, they certainly should include it on other “higher trim” models. Cheers.

Hate the digital clusters. Just another expensive fix when it breaks. Wish Toyota would have a minimalist hybrid to save production cost. One with as little bells and whistles as possible. That would drop the price on these by about 6k-10k.

I think you can alter the MID. There’s a whole array of options and you can make it look analogue. All vehicles these days have this tech.

I ordered rav4 hybrid limited in Ruby Pearl Red colour in February 2023 and dealer told me that it will take around 1 year to arrive at dealership. After that I always checked on marketplace and other auto apps for the availability. Luckily I found one in November 1st week from another Toyota dealer on marketplace as someone cancel the car and it was available right away for delivery. So , I got the same car model in same colour and it’s 2024 year model from another Toyota dealership due to cancellation. And the funny thing is that last week I received a call from my dealer that they have one rav4 hybrid limited 2024 available right away due to cancellation 😂. But it’s magnetic grey metallic colour which I don’t want. So, finally I got my rav4 hybrid limited 2024 after 8 months.

Straight up cars are just too damn expensive right now. I would gladly replace my 2011 RAV4 but the prices are insane. I recently had about $2500 in maintenance and repairs. I choose to do the repairs vs trade in because my payment would be over $700/mo. My repairs would be just over 3 months of car payments. If I had my repairs done at a dealership it would have been $3200. They also wanted to trade my car in for $4500 but I could sell it on the open market for $9000. My RAV4 limited was $29k in 2011 but not it’s $45k. That’s a 50% increase in 13 years. My salary has only increased about 25% in that time. To relative to income its extremely expensive. I could make a $2500 repair twice a year every year and still be cheaper than buying a new car without any depreciation.

3:13 I think it's lame that toyota makes you pay $2,000 for the technology package for a safety feature that could prevent you from killing someone or running over them so if you don't have an extra $2k someone could die. Don't you think something like that should be standard?
