Gee, it wasn't that long ago that I got the 10th edition... but haven't changed calibers or powders since then. Maybe I'll wait for the 12th edition...😂🤣 I do the same with powders; try to use powders that work in multiple loads, to keep my powder inventory lower. 👍🇺🇸
@DummyRound3 жыл бұрын
There's no reason to get it if you don't need the data for the new cartridges. They did add some Shooters World and Vihtavouri powders that weren't previously included, however.

@@DummyRound I've just been using the S.W. online data
@DummyRound3 жыл бұрын
Yep, both SW and VV have their data online for free. Make sure you are checking the most up to date version of the SW pdf(if you had it saved to your phone like I do). I've seen it change about 5 times in the last year.

If the 10th editions go on blow out super sale I'll get one, but it doesn't look like the 11th has anything I'm really going to need. Thanks for the look DR.

Yessir! It looks real nice and shiney, but unless you need data for the newer cartridges, not much use.

Their fifth edition was two books , and the good thing about having books is that the information is always there it doesn't change and you can write on the pages the load that works for you with the different powder and bullet combination
@DummyRound3 жыл бұрын
Wow, 2 books for one edition. I bet that's why they started condensing it and cutting things out. I also like putting notes on the pages for my loads. 👍🇺🇸👊

The reality is that after you complete the "Reloading 101" course 95+% of the load data in this book is useless because it is devoted to numerous "boutique" cartridges very few of us have never used. Why buy the book at all if you can find so much cartridge specific information on line for free???

@@DummyRound I left a message on hornadys FB page. Like wtf hornady what you doing I doubt I’ll get a response. But I’m really enjoying your reloading videos especially the 35 Remington stuff. Not to many people do content on the 35rem I love the cartridge and rifle.
@DummyRound3 жыл бұрын
Maybe if we all make a fuss they'll put it back in for the 2nd rendition and I'll have to buy it again lol. I have some more 35rem planned, just have to find some time. Thanks!
@Johnny-jr2lq3 жыл бұрын
@@DummyRound your not going to believe this Hornady actually responded. But this was there response to my comment. They were not able to get any 700x when making load data for the 11th edition manual. Can you believe that one of the biggest players in the reloading world. Wasn’t able to get one of the cheapest powders on the market. 700x was like the only powder I could find
@DummyRound3 жыл бұрын
@@Johnny-jr2lq wow, that seems a little weird! It has been one of the only powders I've seen readily available over the past 2 years. I'm sure they need a thousand pounds of it or something silly to be able to test all the cartridges they are providing data for. But why not leave the old data in? I don't think the recipe has changed since the last edition was printed🙃

Yeah, usually the bullet companies will only show their bullets, but use a big selection of powders (Hornady, Sierra, Nosler, Speer, etc). Meanwhile, the powder companies only show their powders, but use a ton of different projectiles. Then thirdly, you have Lyman and some others that put out data for just about everything because they don't have to play favorites.
@novicereloader3 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the information. I don't think I need to buy that, right now.
@DummyRound3 жыл бұрын
For whatever reason I like having the physical copy, and if I end up buying factory bullets, they're usually Hornady. I need the Lee and Lyman manuals still, they cover the most ground between bullet and powder combinations from different manufacturers. Thanks for watching 👊🇺🇸👍

@DummyRound3 жыл бұрын
Yeah it's been 2 years now and still hard to find data for it. I have a box of the 170gr SP, and about 5 powders to try for it. Just need my upper to come back (and be in spec this time🤣)!

But is there anything new with 7.5x55 Swiss?....nobody I’ve found has any of the more modern powders listed for it. Sucks too I’ve got 5 pounds of imr 4451 that might be perfect. My favorite cartridge by far btw
@DummyRound3 жыл бұрын
They do have data for the 7.5x55 Swiss, but nothing for IMR4451. There are some newer powders listed like the 4350s, VV N140 and N160, RL15, and a bunch of other older, but popular powders. I've never shot anything chambered in that before, but it looks like a fun cartridge 🇺🇸👍👊
