Thanks so much for showcasing Starshot / Drupal CMS. Looks pretty good.

I'm glad you find it useful.

I just hope they’ll make something like Wordpress Full Site Editor. Or at least a less buggy Gutenberg implementation. Otherwise everything else I say in this demo so far are stuff that are already possible. Some admin theme change which I find really unnecessary, Seven admin theme is much better than Claro and Gin usability wise, they both may look more modern but there is too much waste of space. In the beginning of the video, there’s the ability to change the Dashboard layout using a Gutenberg like layout builder, would be awesome if we can change templates like headers and footer but also make page and content using similar editor.

All of these features can be implemented if you know which modules to use and how to configure them. Drupal CMS's goal is to be a packaged distribution of Drupal using the most popular modules.

@@WebWash > a packaged distribution of Drupal using the most popular modules But then what's the point ? or who is it for ? based on the demo, it's possible to install all these popular module from the admin, so what's point of this initiative in the end?

@@asmewilliams7117 It's to promote Drupal. The people who are in charge of bringing Drupal into a company often aren't developers, so when they install Drupal, they at least get something useful. What is the issue with having a nice default out-of-the-box Drupal setup? If you don't find it useful, then just don't use it. Drupal CMS does a very good job at showcasing what is possible with Drupal and its contributed modules.

The point would be to create a base starting point so you or anyone else, especially those not deeply involved in the Drupal ecosystem, to install a CMS and have all of these top modules ready to go. There are so many Drupal modules out there, and knowing which one to install or use has been an ongoing pain point for non-technical Drupal users. Drupal CMS is an ongoing initiative to reach an entirely new user base. As a Drupal developer, I not only embrace this initiative, but have pushed for years to have Drupal rebrand itself to help remove the stigmata of being too developer oriented. This has continued to hold Drupal back and allow more simplistic CMS's to stand out.

@@JaredLyvers I would put all that effort into making the documentation of Drupal and those popular module much better with step by step guides with screen capture and videos (Which btw WebWash is doing an EXCELLENT job for YEARS now). As someone who has been using Drupal for almost 5 years now, I can tell you the biggest drawbacks have been the lack of ressource of not only Drupal but also popular modules. The second thing it needs is its own Gutenberg. But in all cases, I wish them good luck with this initiative but I definitely don't believe this is the right move now to make Drupal great again and capture more user base.
