Ordered it instantly :D going to code it with Nim like I did with the Inky Frame 5.7”, floyd seinberg dithering picture frame. This has 8MB PSRAM goodness!

I love e- ink displays but my problem lies in the fact that the several manufacturers haven't gotten together to put together a common library to use to program them. I have a Waveshare 5.65 7 color, an inky impression 7.3, and a waveshare 9.7 b/w. Of the three, the impression is my favorite as more libraries are available and when coding, if never fails to be much shorter and packages easier to find. So currently, the 5.65 just sits on my desk and gives me v observation data for astronomy, the impression shows a sideshow of my favorite pictures plus a weather station and current radar. The 9.7 just sits there as there is so little support for its chipset.

Hi Kevin, can I use it to display gif animations? projected from SD card or from the internet? thought of using the idea for exhibition for pixel art, tq

Our C++/MicroPython libraries can display jpg and png files, so animations are possible if you split your gif into individual images and cycle through them. Note that Inky Frame's display takes around 40 seconds to refresh though!

If you demonstrated how stable it is with the provided legs, I missed it. The legs pictured didn't seem that they would provide stable support. Of course something like this is either going to be mounted to a wall or situated on a table or counter, the latter would require some means of support.
