What sander are you currently using and what features would you like to upgrade to?
@jongreen92502 ай бұрын
I use a Ridgid random orbital sander. I would upgrade with the link between the tool and vacuum for automatic dust extraction. Will Milwaukee also come out with a random orbital sander with the same features?
@dimsom84615 күн бұрын
The dewalt orbital they compared this against. This reminds me of the festool sanders, except significantly more cost effective if this works like the Festool. Biggest issue with orbital sanders is the vibration, and that single issue is what makes sanding a chore, at least for me and just about anyone else I've spoken to that wood works. If Milwaukee solves that like festool has, worth every penny. There's almost no great location for a battery on cordless orbitals, so not really an issue i see anyone solving. If it takes the vibration out, take my $199

Hey man I keep on hearing that echo is coming out with a new echo pb 9050 backpack blower during the fall of this year and let me know when you go to the echo headquarters in September

I haven't heard any inside scoop on a new 9050 yet. I hope they do launch one. I plan to go live at their media event, so stay tuned,

I have the current M18 sander and have to say this one is much better, in my opinion. If I get this new sander, I'll make a comparison video.

I guess we'll have to wait for an unbiased youtuber to compare the older m18 model with this newer one. Because their previous m18 model was tested and ranked pretty low when compared to it's competitors. They're slick marketers through.

I've used the older model, but don't think I actually reviewed it. This new one is excellent and I would definitely recommend making the upgrade. Hopefully I'll make a comparison video soon.

The placement of the battery is awful. It’s paired with a 3.0 but I would bet money with a 6.0 it wouldn’t sit upright and the balance is way off just like the previous model. Plus, the battery placement would not allow tight area sanding if you needed to turn the tool, that’s specific but something to consider. It’s an improvement, but when he lifts his hand the sander still walks, almost runs, right off the workpiece. The corded Dewalt, festool, and even the new FLEX turbo don’t do that, they stay in the same relative spot. Idk why companies can’t put the battery directly on top of the motor head for easy balance. It’s so simple

I like having my hand closer to the work. So far, this looks like it checks all the boxes for me, but I'll have to test it out on a big project and see if the things you mentioned are an issue. I'm hoping the runtime on the 3Ah is longer than the charge time.

I'm just a DIY guy mostly or small projects for family. but why in the world does it matter if any sander walks a bit when you let go? I've never once let go of a sander while it's running, ever. I wouldn't even know if any brand I've used does what you've described cause I've never let go!
@KansasTools2 ай бұрын
@@ViresEtDecus haha well idk what sander you have but try it and see. And no, it’s not a huge indication of a bad sander because this is a big upgrade for Milwaukee, but it does show how unbalanced the tool is. An unbalanced sander isn’t good. My corded Dewalt doesn’t walk all over if I just grab the cord and sand like that, meaning it’s well balanced. And that was the point of my original comment. The design of this isn’t well thought through, but it is an improvement for them.

This is a copy of the Bosch sander. And my Bosch sander is great. Haven’t run into any of the issues you’re describing. With a 4 amp hour battery, I got close to an hour of Sanding, with stopping to change paper and it never died. A huge battery isn’t a necessity and you only slightly have to press on the front to get even pressure. Very low vibration. Although I’m just a DIYer, so I don’t have a time to compare it to.
@KansasTools19 күн бұрын
@@JacqueCRISCOsd I haven’t had the Bosch but I will take your word for it! I’m just not a huge fan of the design, but the new m12 model they have coming out I like. If you don’t have balance issues I’d say that it looks good. Thanks for telling me!

If Milwaukee hasn’t improved or redesigned the brake then it’s worthless. I bought one of their sanders a few years ago and the brake pad wore out in a couple hours. They sent me a new one and told me I wasn’t operating it correctly. Quote, you place the sander on the wood before you turn it on and shut it off before you lift it from the wood. BS! I’ve been doing this work for over 40 years. That’s not how you operate a sander they just didn’t want to admit the piss poor design. It was a waste of money. No more Milwaukee for me.

Ridgid and Milwaukee are both owned by TTI. TTI copied Bosch, Festool, Mirka, and 3M’s sander design.

Ergonomics!! The worst design ever if you tried the Bosch and Makita you would have known it was a bad design keep copying the Chinese were never known as innovative they just copy

Right? And look at that dust port sticking way out the side! Can't sand up against a wall without spinning the sander around! Make the dust port spin or put it out the back...
