These prestige guitars are made in the Fujigen factory, which is basically as good as it gets. Really great, I maybe shouldn't say because Andertons don't sell them (yet) but the Fujigen factory have their own brand and line called FGN. You can often find very similar models in their lineup kitted out with Gotoh hardware, high spec offerings for a lot less but still made in this legendary factory.

@@1972Georges I got a Fender "Foto Flame" Tele early 2000's-ish? that is just GORGEOUS because it was made in the Fujigen factory. So, that was a way for me to get that build quality for a fair price. They also have those Foto Flame series in Strat versions, of course.

I know what you mean man, but what your looking for are reviews! Gotta remember andertons are promoting the products at their store so theyre more in the realm of demo's. Ive been watching Anderson's for perhaps 7 years now? And once you learn their personalitys you can tell when they actually dont really like something. Nothing against the boys, but i remember thinking this at some stage too.

For sure there are duds out there to shy away from, but what's 'good' is a subjective thing. If you like Gibson, you're gonna gravitate to Gibson. If you like Fender, ditto... So the key is to go to a store, sit down, and have the focused goal of building a mental notebook of your likes and dislikes of every guitar you can get your hands on. That way if you hear keywords like, action, fret board radius, neck shape etc. you know what that means TO YOU, not just in general. Do you like a super thin shredder neck? Or a baseball bat neck? Do you like the tone of a certain pickup or not? If you like a hard tail bridge, a standard tremolo or a Floyd Rose. These guys have a business to run. They'll tell you the technical specs of every guitar they show and when you hear those specs you should be saying "that's good" or "that's not for me." Being super picky and critical of everything will only help make sure you don't order something and get a big disappointment.

Whole heartedly agree. Been wanting one for a while now, but there is not one in a color that I like. That's really the crux of the problem for Ibanez IMO, is the severely limited color choices on most of their lineup.

I’ve added a “Blender” pot in place of the 2nd tone control to my Frankenstrat. It allows either the neck or bridge to be blended in when in positions 1&5 to provide Tele type middle tone and when in position’s 2&4 it allows you to add in the 3rd pickup! A very versatile wiring solution for 3 pickup guitars!

Great guitars from Ibanez as always and great features for the price - that 7 string headless is ridiculously good value, but it was the Pentatone that really impressed me. The features on that pedal are brilliant. I rarely play high gain (mostly jazz…), but having a single pedal that will give me everything I need on those few occasions when I need high gain is perfect for me - normally I have to screw around with my boutique and tube driven pedals, desperately trying to tighten up the bass and adapt to the high output pickups on my one shred guitar (an Ibanez btw!). This pedal means I can just bypass my carefully tweaked low gain pedals for just this one unit. Reminds me a lot of the Ceres pedal (KSR) which is probably the industry standard for high gain chugging, but this is at half the price and with many more features! I have to try this thing. Pre-ordered before Ibanez realise their mistake and add another £70 to the price tag. The only thing missing from the pedal appears to be the option to use it only as an eq (ie no dirt from the pedal)- that would make it incredibly versatile and useful even when playing clean through a more vintage style rig.

I always say it when the 7 string discussion comes up with these guys, but for anyone that is tempted by 7s, I found when starting out that an easier way to get used to the lower range is to tune the G string down a half step to F#. What that gives you then is a baritone guitar with an extra high string rather than a standard guitar with an extra low string. Makes it way easier to transpose your knowledge to the lower range than missing a half step from where your usual reference is.

Are you saying to tune a 6 string to BEADF#B? I have a 7 string, but it's in A standard, so I tuned one of my 6 string RGs down to B.
@bengreenbank
@bengreenbank Жыл бұрын
Personally I think the AEADGBE (for drop A) is much easier. This way you can chug like usual when playing the four biggest strings. And you can solo like usually when using the normal 6 strings. You only run into issues when you’re using the low A and G at the same time which is pretty rare unless you’re playing tech death or something in which case you’re definitely not a beginner and won’t have issues
@tarkenton3895
@tarkenton3895 Жыл бұрын
@@scramblesthedeathdealer the recommendation I'm making is to do it on a 7 string, that way you're still keeping a full range whilst being able to easily traverse the lower range.
@tarkenton3895
@tarkenton3895 Жыл бұрын
@@bengreenbank some will of course find it easier to do things this way, but the way I'm suggesting is more suited for people who reference the fretboard from the lowest string. Transposing the lowest 6 strings to being in a 'standard' tuning with relation to where the major 3rd is makes forming chords in a lower register easier with the knowledge you'd already have from a standard tuned 6. Basically like going from a standard 6 to a baritone 6 rather than trying to go from a 6 to a 7 where your knowledge is slightly off.

Some very cool guitars, and I like the new metallic colors much more than "house paint" gloss (Revstar sitting on the rack) still used by some guitar makers. On the multi-scale necks, angling the Pickups so the nodes matched the fret angles would make finding harmonics easier, but could interfere with picking. A Rail Humbucker in the neck would open up some real estate for picking, while eliminating the possibility of any volume loss when bending.

Adding a parametric EQ to a distortion pedal is just genius. Because for one having to turn on and off your dedicated EQ pedal and turn it back on whenever you want a certain sound it's kind of annoying. So I'd rather have the EQ and the distortion in one box. Plus I want to boost the mids that go into the distortion and then scoop everything at the end and that makes it perfect. It's a precision kind of thing.

I think you should invite Stéphan Forté to Andertons to shred on that RGA. He already uses a custom Ibanez 7 string 27 fret guitar and is a total shred monster. Make it so, Captain.

The black prestige with 27 frets looks almost identical to Jackson's new concept series guitars.

They joke about it but it’s true, the difference wood makes in comparison to pick ups is almost indistinguishable

Ibanez (or someone else!) really needs to make premium coloured or wood switch covers for the S series. I'd buy one.

I'm going to get that sml someday. It is a guitar that will complete my arsenal (not the fc). I'm not a high-gain kinda guy, but that eq on the pentatone looks great. I hope they could make a standalone version of it.
