I have found so many uses for this. First off, Winter rinseless washing, washing off the daily bird poop, rinsing off the daily pollen in the Spring, rinsing dog's paws and sandy beach feet and as a camping shower. Rinsing garden shoes and hiking boots. Rinsing muddy camping equipment. The list goes on and on. For me, if it spares 3 or 4 car washes by spot cleaning, it pays for itself. And in the Winter, I end up going to the car wash every day if there is ice melt on the road.

I agree. There are just so many times you want to do something where a hose doesn't feel like enough (or you don't have one nearby), but dragging out your gas or electric power washer seems like overkill/ a huge hassle. Dog poop on your shoes, dirty rain water covering your patio furniture or patio bricks, spraying down your mountain bike (at the trailhead even!), getting some random muck off your car, etc. This is ideal for those situations.

THANK YOU! Was debating whether 600psi was too much to rinse my car in the winter and was considering the 320psi. This answered my questions. Thanks!

Great review. My main reason for buying this unit is to apply strong pool SH mixtures to my deck - I am thinking the new one is better because on the low setting it would not cause so much mist! I will return the old 320 PSI unit I just bought at Home Depot in late Sept 2024 and get the 600 PSI unit!

Just received mine yesterday and immediately put it to use cleaning my patio furniture, porch and picture window. My evaluation in 2 words - GAME CHANGER! The ease in being able to maneuver around without the electric cord on my bigger pressure washer makes a huge difference. Power consumption is much better than I expected. My only gripe is that my foam cannons don’t connect up with Ryobi’s quick connect ( I assume to force us to buy their cannon attachment). With all those foam cannon attachments in the background, I’m surprised that you didn’t point this out. Otherwise, an excellent overview!

I'm with you on the cold weather. Sucks. Thats why this product would be cool for us in the winter. I'm with you. Change the tip so we can put pressure washer tips on it. Now think about this.....you can fill bucket with distilled water. No spots. You can use it to wash engines. You can use it to rinse door jams. And mostly, you can use it to wash and rinse motorcycles. Pressure is perfect so you don't ruin the water seals on motorcycles. Don't need to drag everything out for a small job like a motorcycle. This is your top product review so far. Looking into this one. Great Great video Brian.

I've been on the fence about this. For the negative reviews, you have to know what to expect. It's 600 psi, which is useful for very, very light work and it's convenient. Agreed make all connectors standard including wand to base M22*15 or 14 and 1/4" quick connect for tips. Especially the garden hose quick connector, I'm not going to switch my existing Quick connector out every time I use the proprietary RYOBI QC as that defeats the purpose in the first place. I haven't bought it yet for those very same reasons. Although the low GPM may make it less useful with standard pressure washer tips such as a 3.0 or less with a 4.0. That may be the reason for the proprietary connectors...

Perhaps this Ryobi works better than the Dewalt I tried. I am looking for is a way to throw some distilled water on my car as a final rinse in my quest to avoid water spots. I ordered the Dewalt DCPW550B recently and returned it. The Dewalt's pressure (550 PSI) was about the same as I could get out of a garden hose with a spray head. I expected that, but the deal killer was a lack of consistent spray. It was as if the hose was periodically coming out of the bucket, but it wasn't. Compared to the Ryobi, the Dewalt had a longer wand and did utilize standard tips.

Good review man! I just got this in the uk. It says it’s HP but it doesn’t have the extra tabs in the battery well. So does a HP battery offer any benefit for it? Or just stick with the old style one+ battery ??
@FABAutomotiveDetailing2 жыл бұрын
The HP batteries believe a little bit more power but not really noticeable IMO.

Basic physics…….Water flowing through a restricted oriface = pressure. So each pressure washer usually has tips sized according to the flow rate of the pump. I would guess that providing a brass quick connect fitting on the end of the wand would lead to Ryobi receiving a lot of performance complaints and probably product returns. Eg; people were using tips off a 3000psi unit which has a larger oriface size because the pump flow is a lot higher which I believe would lead to a low output pressure and higher water consumption on the Ryobi unit.

I understand this comment, but I don't think it's that. The company is part of a larger company that is publicly traded, so selling proprietary nozzles makes more money. Secondly, all the tips I've bought seem rated for the pressure, meaning they won't fail at 3400PSI, not that it's allowing a certain flow amount through.

Good stuff man!! I also think Interchangeable tips and a stainless disconnect would be a very good thing.. I do realize this all costs a lot more..but in the long run it saves on buying new parts..plastic parts that are proprietary to this machine and not readily available at the local hardware store..

My power washer shuts off after about 3 seconds on high setting and runs a little longer on 2nd setting any reason for that? Fully charged 18 volt battery and brand new out the box

It must be a defect I would return it.

@@FABAutomotiveDetailing Have you found any use difference with using the HP batteries vs the regular ones? I saw this comes with standard non HP batteries but is an HP product? i don't have any HP batteries and don't really wanna buy any yet.

Can you wash and rinse all 4 tires and wheels with 5 gallons?

Yes you can

I saw the first version for 50. Would you say it’s worth it over the brushless version at that price or no?
@FABAutomotiveDetailing Жыл бұрын
Yes I would say so

$50 US? no way, it's marked down at "$69" at my Home Depot. I have the 320psi version sitting new in the box watching all the videos thinking I should bite bullet on double the price to have brushless (theoretically saves battery life) and option to change pressure, compared to all the same pressure. I'm about to use this to spray bleach water mixture for soft washing.

They both look like they aren’t so great. Maybe it’s better in person. Great review either way.

Can I replace the quick connect male adaptor with the brass one?

I do not believe so.

The only thing I would use that on would be on a rinse with purified water , for those without a DI tank . Thanks for sharing …

That’s a great idea. You are welcome

Well after doing the scrubbing he did a garden hose with 50 lbs pressure would have rinsed that tire just fine. These batter pressure washers are just toys.

would this work with cleaning an engine bay?
@FABAutomotiveDetailing2 жыл бұрын
It would work but I would rather have a little bit more power for engine bay cleaning.

I wonder if the 40v one is better than the one they just released
@rmcfadde12 жыл бұрын
40v has better ergonomics
@wishingb5859 Жыл бұрын
I know this comment is a year ago but the 40v is much heavier and bulkier. The 18v with a 9a battery is supposed to be equivalent with the time gained from the 40v without the bulk.

Can your run soapy water through it? Or just water?
@FABAutomotiveDetailing2 жыл бұрын
It doesn’t say you can but I don’t know why you couldn’t unless it would build up and clog it

I have owned several Ryobi products but I would say this is not something I would buy. Yes it might be good for a quick wash or maybe wash the windows on my house. It just doesn’t have to power to clean any heavy mud or dirt of my truck. I’d save my money and buy a good power washer. Good video though and it convinced me not to waste my money.
@FABAutomotiveDetailing3 жыл бұрын
If you have to deal with a lot of mud or dirt then a regular pressure washer would be better for sure. Thanks

how many full car wash can you get on full charge?

Depends which battery. They sell 2, 4, 6, and 9. He was using a 4 and it wasn't half used after 4 wheels and a side panel. 9 will last forever in comparison.
