Broken promises, bad design, worse writing, a setting that remains one of the worst science-fiction/science-fantasy settings I've ever seen, adventure paths that often weren't worth the paper they were printed on...

Now that I've had a few sessions in with the enhanced Technomancer...I can confirm they are very powerful now. We also play with an enhanced Envoy. The combined action ability is is subtle but powerful. Envoy can heal or encourage/taunt AND attack. High charisma lowers the refresh.

100% agree with the nitpick on 1-1/2 vs 1.5 in the text. I've been burned when scanning rules and assumed 1/2 when it was 1.5. I think your way is much more easy to read at a glance and easier to not confuse with 1/2.

Same! I'm new to Starfinder, and I didn't immediately understand why they weren't just writing 1/2 (... I thought they were saying 1 minus 1/2, not 1 and a 1/2) I felt silly when I got it lol

Yeah all my players and I are in agreement with you on this one too. 1.5 all the way, to this day I can’t understand why Paizo are choosing to develop their own form of writing decimals 😂

@@JayvenFoxx I think Paizo didn't developed it, it is an old notation used like in construction or something, like in PVC tubes, but it's still odd they decided to use it, as it isn't even that common in the USA to begin with.

@JayvenFoxx Luckily Paizo didn't come up it! It was a common way to write fractions before decimals were as commonly used. It had something to do with old printing technology, but I can't remember the details.

@TheMapleTable with Starfinder 2e coming (playtest on the 1st of Aug) id love to see some coverage of it. It's practically a dead sea right now which is super surprising. I know NoNat has don't a couple of "oh this is a thing I'm excited about" but nothing in depth, and I feel you have a lot you could bring to the table for it. Hope things turn around for you bud.

Hey Nathaniel, While I understand your feeling about the Witchwarper, I think you are really underestimating how strong the decoupling of the Infinite Abilities from your standard spell slots actually is.

Agreed. That is amazingly powerful. Opening many combats with basically a max lvl infinite worlds and a normal spell cast is incredibly good. Even just the separate spell slot pools basically makes ww the single most viable pure caster in the game.

Your probably right that I'm not getting something. I have always wanted to like Witchwarper but it's been hard until recently as I have always just lumped them in with casters and not support casters as I feel would be a better way to look at it

@@TheMapleTable With these changes, Witchwarpers become kings/queens of area control. Their spell list has a good mix of general utility, social control, and combat (both single target and area) spells. Basically, if you want to lock down an area, force a target to move from their current position, or punish a clumped-up group of enemies, the Witchwarper is the caster you are looking for.

Wondering about that enchantment option for technomagic talent. Doesn't seem like it will be useful for buffing your own spells, at least not with fairly heavy investment due to spell focus not being additive. If you keep putting points in it does keep you ahead of the curve, and quite a bit if you do it at level 1, 4, & 7, but after level 11 it feels fairly lackluster to put in 3 points for a total of +1. I guess it does potentially lower enemy dc's, but that's much more situational. Only really valuable for someone that is hardcore enchantment.

Most of the magical hacks lasting for 1 turn at the cost of a resolve point, unless they are upping resolve point pools makes a ton of these new magical hacks pretty lackluster. You can either spend a resolve point to steal a spell that was cast to be able to get a free casting of it, or a +1 to hit until next turn. They def need to look them over again, since I also overlooked that you can copy even an ALLIED spell. Your buddy throws an attack spell? Why not BOTH do it.

Parallel minds is literally worthless for my group, as we let people re-tool their characters (between sessions) reasonably however they want, and we just generally don't metagame with this. I would really rather there was something less metatextual to it.

Enhance Defense might just be one of the worst abilities I've ever seen designed for an RPG. What the actual hell were they thinking with this dogshit? The fact it's when you GET TARGETED, and then its ONLY EAC, and then it's only such a paltry amount, for a MASSIVELY Valuable RP and Magical Hack, especially at 2nd level? The odds of you getting actual value out of this are hilariously low. Man I am really disappointed with almost everything shown here except for the changes to Infinite Worlds, and even there it doesn't really make the ability more interesting, but they give it out so aggressively for free, it's like why not just use it? It doesn't make me WANT to use it, but now at least it feels dumb to NOT use it. Doesn't change the fact the actual effects of Infinite Worlds are largely insignificant and boring.
