After lusting after VV3 for a year after getting Falcon (mainly based on Nate's reviews of it) I figured VV4 would have Sunbox so I waited and since I had Digital Synsations which comes with a lot of hardware, the into upgrade price was only $299, what a steal, but the first thing I downloaded was Sunbox, apparently the originals are almost all broken these days lol and according to Nutrix there are only two kinds of people, those who think it sounds awesome and those who haven't got a clue 😂 kzbin.info/www/bejne/oaG1eoePlJufhMk

Thanks for this demo I'm so glad I held out and waited I just knew a newer version was coming just didn't know when and got the email blast today and it was a no brainer for only $299.00 U.S. it goes to full price $599.00 on Feb.27

@Piotr Nowotnik your absolutely correct. I’ve purchased Super 7 & PX Sunbox prior to the release of VV4. I got it for $299.00 as well. We got lucky, UVI got paid either way.

I have the v1 version, does the v4 has a better preset management, i always loved uvi sounds but hate do not like their preset management

Not really, I do think Falcon needs a proper library manager. I bought nks templates from freelance soundlabs though, so pretty much everything from UVI loads from my Komplete Kontrol keyboard.

Hi Nate. Thanks for yet another excellent overview of the latest instruments from UVI ! 👍👍 I am a fan of UVI as well, and since I was able to upgrade from Vintage Vault 3 to Vintage Vault 4 for a minimal cost, I just added/updated these instruments last night. lol. 😎 Regardless, I had to check out your vid, because I have always been impressed with your channel's production values (including superior sound quality compared to many YT channels), your extensive knowledge & experience, and your enthusiasm for inspiring retro sounds. I will add that, despite being an old fart & music geek who remembers the 80s well, I never ever heard about the original instruments which UVI has named the "Hybrid-6000", the "PX Sunbox" & the "Bitzone". Quite honestly, I am blown away by their unique & extremely charming sonic characters! Are you aware of any well-known albums/songs that featured those particular original instruments?

WTF!! I just got VV3 yesterday (not even 24 hours have passed yet), and paid $419 with EDU discount, could have got VV4 for $399!! Wish I would have known this was coming, I am very upset right now :(

I'd be surprised if they don't accommodate you, it's only fair after all. I have had good results with UVI and found them to be very reasonable. PLEASE keep us posted on this thread and let us know how this turns out, thanks.

Will VV4 run in cubase or do i need falcon and is falcon a DAW? By that i mean can it do all the things a DAW can do, record on loads of channels, vocals etc and mix down? How much is Falcon? I want VV4 but am not so sure about what is happening here. Can it be run inside Cubase? I am looking to upgrade and ideally would like Cubase but if Falcon can be used as a DAW then i might go down this route instead.

VV4 will run with the free UVI Workstation plugin in any DAW as an instrument. It'll run in Falcon too and allow for way more complex layering and stuff if you really need to tweak things, but it isn't essential. And no, Falcon is a VST hybrid synth/sampler, not a DAW in it's own right.
