Looks a bit cheap compared to the thrustmaster kit, tbh. Still, it's nice to see a bit of competition, and see these companies starting to realise that there are markets beyond racing games. I do love that the buttons are numbered, though - with so many controls to map, this is no small thing, and I wish that thrustmaster had numbered everything

Since the Thristmaster system is around $800 and this one is half that at $400 I would say it not only looks cheaper but actually is cheaper. The old adage that you get what you pay for generally holds true. The big question would be is this system sufficient?

@@seanobrien7169 the big issue is that FS only supports 2 controllers. Iracing supports as many as my computer and hub and wallet support! I remember flight sim being able to support a lot to. Those are the 3 sims I’ve used with peripherals.

I will say it's a big shame there's no force feedback on the wheel. The auto-spring probably makes it very awkward to use the buttons and joysticks while driving. If they had implemented force feedback this product would really be quite good for casual sims like farming sim and ETS2.

Honestly, I kinda prefer the spring (full disclosure I've never had ff) as it seems easier to defeat. As most heavy equipment is full hydraulic steering I removed the spring from my Logitech wheel to better mimic the feel.

I know a lot of people say that it sucks not having force feedback (I dont disagree at this price point it should have it) but the majority of equipment and tractors use hydraulic steering which have no feedback in the wheel so its technically realistic to what its trying to do but definately makes it seem pricey.

Hi. The toggle to the left of the joystick, which you are using for forward/backwards motion, Can it be set as Cruise control/speeder in stead? So one Can use it like a hydrostat joystick for when harvesting? You know to make things more realistic like irl, where combines are driven forward with a joystick?

Farming simulator forcefeed back isn't really a thing anyway. Especially with farming equipment that is direct hydraulic steering with no feedback in the wheel anyway. It would actually be more realistic to have no forcefeedback AND no centering spring for farming equipment.

So the burning question is compared to the Thrustmaster setup? Of course you can't answer that, but obviously you get what you pay for. But in both cases they are way way overinflated. I would be comfortable paying what the Hori setup is for the Thrustmaster and half that for the Hori. I have the Logitech setup with two side panels and honestly, I prefer just using an xbox controller. I have to admit I am tempted watching these review videos, especially the Thrustaster setup...But the reality is it would be a colossal waste of money...for me...

I would in no way say that either in over inflated. Both are very reasonably priced. Problem with the hori one is that while using the joystick, you have no way to move the camera, which sucks and makes anything more difficult. And the thrustmaster setup costs way more of you need to buy the whole setup, and it beeing so far from the desk really limits it's use

Yeah I would love to have either of them, but I don’t have the room. My Xbox controller does the job, but if I ever get the room I’d definitely consider getting one

@@philash824 With my setup I have an L shaped desk and three monitors mounted higher up with wallmount brackets. Then there is my office chair and the fact I am 6'4". I am just not comfortable with a wheel setup. Contrary to oleandreas above, the fact the Thrustmaster setup sits further out and is more horizontal might actually work in my favor. But anyway, there is no doubt a wheel and stick gives you better control and I do use my setup. But my PC serves other functions and connecting and disconnecting is a pain and I just prefer to sit more laid back with the controller. It is not as precise, I will not argue that, but it is far more relaxing and comfortable, especially for long multi-hour sessions.

For being strictly pc i would’ve hoped that the steering wheel would be forced feedback instead of an auto center. I get that for $400. you’re getting a lot of buttons along with pedals and a steering wheel, but it looks like they went high-quality(ish)with the pedals and joystick (not so much the plastic buttons) a force feedback wheel is also a bit more realistic. A possible oversight…

but fs doesnt provide ffb readings so even if the wheel had fb you wouldnt feel any of it anyway, unless using on other games that do like assetto, ets2, ats etc, this is an oversight on giants for having a sim game in 23 that doesnt provide ffb.

idk, FFB is more typical on older machines, driven good ol' 50 year old Balkan tractors and the wheel can get janky when driving on rough terrain but more modern tractors typically have a separate steering system from the hydraulic bits so you literally feel next to no feedback

I use a G29 and for the most part it feels pretty lifeless on the ffb, especially coming from iracing. In there you could feel lots in fs22 it’s not as in depth.

This seems quieter than the wheel you usually use. I also noticed in your Thrustmaster video that I could hear the steering wheel through your microphone. Am I imagining things, or was the Thrustmaster steering wheel squeaky compared to this one?

Apparently a lot of the noise from steering wheels is the force feedback. So if you have a quiet one chances are it has no force feedback.

I have been watching your videos for awhile now, and just started playing the game. Thanks for the introduction to a fascinating new hobby! At the end of the video, you hit one button and sell everything on your trailer without exiting it to access the sale point. How do you do that? Is it a standard control I just haven't been able to find in the regular menus?

What is is doing in the video is un-fastening his tension belts! Once he does that, the products automatically start selling. This works the same for goods that aren't grain or any other "spillable" material. I think only wood sell points you have to get out of the tractor to hit.

ordered one on amazon and promptly retuned it. it was alright but really didn't like the huge number of buttons with unclear labels in game. this made mapping difficult. also the wheal feels very tall and has no wheal tilt.

Looks OK, but a couple of points: 1. They need to sell the joystick bit apart from the full kit, because the majority of their market probably already have a joystick and pedals they like. 2. I think that one of the button sets at the top of the joystick should have been another analogue joystick for looking around, fixed speed buttons are not really suitable.

It sucks that they aren't releasing the joystick as its own product like they did with the Saitek / Logitech panel... I already have the T248 and wouldn't use this wheel at all so paying nearly £400 is completely pointless. Although the new Thrustmaster joystick does also look good, I might have to get that if it comes back into stock.
